If

If I could walk along a river

Or fly among the birds

Or climb a tree so high

I’d scream and not be heard

If I could dance upon the moon

Or jump from star to star

Or swing from vine to vine

Apart, they would be far

If I could read the judge’s mind

I would always win the case

If I could simply blink my eyes

To go from place to place

If, if, if.  If are all these things

I’ll never have magic, I’ll never sprout wings
