'Ally, are you in there?' I knock on our shared room door. It's locked and I'm sure Ally is there but for some reason she won't let me in. We shared the room ever since Lou left but we didn't really speak and she was almost never here by day.

'Look,' I don't want to do it with a door between us, but if she won't open the door, it's the only way, 'I really want to talk to you, Cole called me last weekend, it's already Thursday, you can't keep ignoring me and...'

Suddenly I hear the lock switch. I carefully open the door and look inside the room. Ally is sitting on her bed, crying.

'You're not going to apologize with a door between us, are you?' she says with a crying voice.

'No, I wasn't planning...on...doing... Ally, what's wrong?' I walk towards her and sit down on her bed.

'Oh and now you care?'

'I always care about you Ally, I always have and always will. Maybe you won't see it every day, but I do. Truly.' She looks up at me and sighs.

'I know.' For a moment we didn't speak. It was like all we needed was each other's company.

'Have you had any contact with Lucy?' I ask after we sat there for what felt like an hour. Maybe it was.

'Yes, she started to work at her dads company in LA,' she answers without looking at me.
