Well, I've been thinking about whether Crona is a boy or a girl then it hit me! If Crona is Medusa's child by blood then wouldn't he be a witch also? Yet, strangely, he does not have any magical powers like witches are supposed to have. Then, I noticed that all of the witches I have seen in the anime have been female. So that made me think that it's only female's that gain the witch gene when they are born. I shall stick by this solution and proudly say that Crona is indeed a boy!!!!!! The only thing close to a male witch is Free but he just has powers because of the eye he stole from the Grand Witch, Mabaa, so I don't think that really counts as he was not born a witch.
So, duh-du-du-duhhhhh!!!!!!!!!! CRONA IS A BOY!!!!!!!!!!!! But I'm still wondering who the father is....
