i feel the dark moving in
starting in my brain
moving slowly through my body
to my fingers
where they draw dark creatures
all the way to my knees
cracking with age i don't have
throughout my entire leg
anxiously bouncing
until it covers all of me
even my heart is black
no matter how hard it beats
the shell will never tear
so i put it in words
and throw them to the world
where eyes will scan
and brains will comprehend
and hearts will feel
suddenly the black is greying
