I had my D-Phone hooked up to a panel on Festus's back. A display of the New York area was on it with a small dragon logo moving toward Central Park. Calypso was sleeping with the harness I added strapped around her waist. After returning the first thing I added to Festus was harnesses after the plunge I took with Piper and Jason.

A message from Annabeth popped up on the screen and I pulled it up.

A: Empire State Building heading to Central Park. Scout and report back.

I reached around and nudged Calypso, “we got a small detour before we meet up with the others. Hold on we are changing elevation.”

She nodded and rubbed the sleep from her eyes. I leaned over toward Festus’s ear. Checking the coordinates I repeated instructions as I entered them into the control panel, “take us down below the cloud bank. Approximately four hundred feet above sea level. Fly a perimeter around Central Park and slowly descend into the location the text originated from. You got that, boy?”

The whirl of gears and the slow popping in my ears told me he understood.

As we dive below the clouds, perhaps for the last time, the city that never sleeps appears on the horizon.

The camp counselors have been planning our defenses for hours. I want to win as much as the next child of Nike but the Stolls need to lose. Outnumbered war under the table has been going on for five minutes and I can no longer feel the tips of my left hand. Connor is sitting next to me viciously stepping on my foot while Connor is trying to cheer his on with Katie next to him. I manage to pin his thumb as Annabeth notices.

She glances at us out of the corner of her eye, “is there something you would like to contribute to the conversation?”

Connor snickers next to me as my face stones over. I lean over the map and gester to the blue area of the map. “Yes, actually.  I think it would be better to move the troops closer to Turtle Pond. It has the Delacorte Theater close by. Percy and Jason will be able to draw off the water in the pond and theater provides cover and height for the archerors. With the emery having strong ties to fire and earth a water source would be helpful.”

Studying the map, Annabeth nodded, “good idea. Though, I suggest you and Connor stop holding hands before we start jumping to conclusions.”

Connor stopped laughing and  went beat red while I smirk. “He wishes. If that Weasley can’t land me I’ll be a Gryffindor.” I replied in good humor.

“I’ll have you know that we Gryffindors are brave and darning. Much more macho than you Ravenclaws!”

“Yet we are so much wiser,” I replied while he sat there gaping at my words.

“Enough!”

“Sorry, Chiron.” I mumbled shooting Connor a smirk and whispering “Caw Caw.”

The meeting adjourned with specific groups for areas. Connor and I walking about still debating Hogwarts houses when I heard a scream. Looking up I grabbed Connors hand and ran as a dragon fell where we had been standing.
