Lin's POV

"Dancing through life!" Scarlett sang to herself at the table. I couldn't help but pick up her humming while coloring.

"What are you humming over here?" I asked her.

"Mommy took me to see Wicked. I have the song stuck in my head." She giggled.

"Oh really?" I was surprised, Wicked wouldn't have been my first show for her... But now I felt like I wasn't really doing anything with her... Just kinda going through the motions with her... "Do you want to see another show?" I asked her.

"Yes!" She gasped. I pulled out my phone, doing a quick search on The Lion King for tickets. "What is that?" She asked.

"Did your mother not let you watch Lion King?!" I asked. She shook her head and looked down at the screen. "What does she let you watch then?" I asked her.

"I watch Happy Feet." She shrugged.

"My god Pippa why have you sheltered this child..." I muttered to myself. I bought last minute tickets for Sunday and texted my parents to watch Seb while V and I took Scarlett out.

Sunday was eventful. Scarlett was a handful as well. I got her a little Simba stuffed animal from the stand and she asked politely for her own playbill. I took a quick picture of her looking at the giant poster for the show as well. I couldn't help but smile and feel a little bit of joy. She was excited. Like literally vibrating.

"Do you have to pee?" Vanessa asked her quietly.

"Um..." Scarlett frowned while looking at her things.

"I can hold your stuff while you go." I offered. Scarlett put her items in my hand and ran with Vanessa to the bathroom. I couldn't help but imagine her on stage one day. Pippa and I were both performers... It was basically her destiny to be one of us...

It was a pretty long wait, and when they finally came back, Scarlett looked like she was going to explode.

"Long lines." Vanessa chuckled. "This one is completely excited about the show. She heard others talking about how great the show is."

"Oh goodness." I let out a little laugh, I could only imagine what Pippa had gone through when she saw Wicked.

We sat quickly, hiding Scarlett from the crowds. She sat in her seat quietly, staring at the stage. At least she had manners... When Rafiki came out and started singing, she jumped, but not as much as I expected. Her eyes fixed on the performer.

Two hours later and she was applauding with the rest of us for the actors and actresses on stage. I was glad she enjoyed the show so much.

"What did you think Scarlett?" I asked her.

"I loved it so much!" She giggled as she walked.

"Who was your favorite?" Vanessa asked.

"Scar!" She giggled.

"What?" I asked her. "Who was your favorite when you saw Wicked?" I asked.

"I really liked Elphaba." She answered. I shrugged it off, letting her have her favorite. It wasn't too long before we had to drop her off, so we went back home quickly to gather her things and take her home. This time, playing show tunes the entire way to Pippa's apartment.

"Oh I just can't wait to be king!" Scarlett giggled while skipping down the hall to her other home. I smiled, and knocked on Pippa's door, waiting for an answer. After a minute or two, the door opened revealing a tired Pippa. "Mommy!" Scarlett giggled while tackling her legs.

"Oh my goodness... You're really hyper.." She sniffed.

"Are you okay?" I asked her.

"Yeah.. Just getting sick." She sighed. "Someone sneezed in my face last week, so I guess this is what that was." She coughed. "Why is she so hyper?" She asked.

"She just saw Lion King on broadway..." I admitted.

"Oh. Did she like it?" She asked.

"Yeah, her favorite is Scar... How come you never let her watch the movie?" I inquired. I needed to have an answer for that one.

"She never sits through it. She sits through Happy Feet and rewatches the damn thing for six hours straight." She sighed. "Maybe she'll want to watch that now." She chuckled. "Thank you." She smiled.

"It was no problem." I let out a slight chuckle. "Is Steve here?" I asked her.

"No, he's at a late rehearsal." She answered.

"Oh. I hope she'll go to bed soon then." I felt a little guilty for leaving a hyperactive Scarlett with her in her condition, but she looked as if she could handle it.

"Scarlett, come say thank you!" Pippa coughed. I heard her little feet come running back, her once pulled back hair was now down and she had a brush in her hand already.

"Thank you for taking me to see the show." She smiled.

"You're welcome Squirt." I smiled. I watched her run back inside and took a look at Pippa. "She still hasn't called me dad yet..." I admitted.

"Give her time. Steve was the only one for a while." She shrugged. "Goodnight Lin."

"Goodnight Pips." I waved.

When I got down to the car, I couldn't help but feel a little sad. I saw Pippa every weekend. Only for a few minutes too.. But I felt happy when I saw her and when I left I felt upset. When I started the car, it continued from the last song we had played.

Evermore was the next one to come on as I sat in traffic.

How weird.
