A whole week of staying in the hospital and she was finally out. I smiled at my little girl as she sat on the couch in my dressing room. She still had a tiny cough, but Steve promised to pick her up soon.

"Where's daddy?" Her little voice was still hoarse, but still adorable.

"He's on his way. Remember, daddy has rehearsals too." I answered her while cleaning up her dinner garbage.

"Oh." She sniffed. I looked up at her big brown eyes and saw her face turn into a smile. Her eyes were so dark, her hair was incredibly dark as well. Really straight too. I was glad it was long. She was the cutest kid to me.

"Knock, knock!" I heard someone sing. I turned to see Jasmine and Renee slightly opening my door.

"Come in, come in." I laughed. Both of them shuffled in, all of us fully dressed for the show. I had missed only one show, but it was okay. I was here for opening. Couldn't party though. Had to be right back with Scarlett.

"How are you feeling little one?" Jasmine asked while sitting on the couch next to Scarlett.

"Better." She answered. I watched her lean on Jasmine and saw Jasmine's hand begin to move the hair from Scarlett's face.

"Admit it. You love kids." I smirked.

"I love this kid. She's so great." Jasmine laughed with me.

We talked for a little while, eventually having to warm up together. Scarlett sat with Jasmine the entire time, watching all of us sing our little harmonies. I think she was amused at how high Jasmine was singing since her eyes were incredibly wide when she was hitting high notes.

"What? Never heard that before?" Jasmine laughed.

"How do you do that?!" She gasped.

"Lots and lots of practice." She laughed. I'm sure your mommy knows how to get up there too." She jested.

"In my wildest dreams will I ever hit those notes." I laughed. I could hit some high notes, but not like those. Those were a God given gift.

It had quickly became call time and Steven still hadn't shown up. I felt a little worried since he was usually on time, but with rehearsals, anything could really happen... Especially with his show opening soon too...

"Go, I'll watch her." Eliza, one of the many swings, whispered.

"Thank you." I mouthed while running to my spot. I was quickly checked for my mic and everything before the show was started. Insane to think that this was my life. I heard a little cough behind me, and I was afraid she was going to be right there... I turned my head and saw her standing on the top of the stairs that led backstage. Eliza was right behind her there too. She gave me a thumbs up and Scarlett waved at me. I gave a little smile and wave before walking out for my part.

By the time intermission came on, I noticed Eliza was on stage and Scarlett was missing. I mentally panicked, knowing that one of the ensemble girls had landed wrong and had to be switched quickly... But I still had no clue where Scarlett was...

"And then we do what?" I heard someone ask.

"Like this." I heard Scarlett's giggling voice. I turned the corner to the little common area and saw her dancing with Groff. I felt so much more at ease now.

"Hey! Look, it's mommy." He smiled at me.

"I'm teaching him how to dance!" Scarlett giggled.

"Where's Steve?" I asked him.

"Bathroom. I'm just here for a bit until he's back." He shrugged.

"Sing the song!" Scarlett giggled at him. I watched as Groff rolled his eyes and proceeded to sing the reindeer song from Frozen. I couldn't help but laugh. It was his fault really. It was her favorite song. In fact, she only watched the movie until that part anyway.

The rest of the show went as planned, Steven taking Scarlett home after I got to say goodbye to him and goodnight to her. It made me happy that she loved us both so much.

"How was it?" Steve asked when I got home.

"Good. Just the usual stuff. Lots of people at the stagedoor. I didn't stay too long because I wanted to get home." I yawned. "I'm gonna go check on the runt." I whispered.

"Careful, She just went to sleep not too long ago." He chuckled quietly. I rolled my eyes and made my way to her room. I cracked the door open and saw her passed out with her stuffed penguin on the floor. I walked in to pick it up and saw her little drawings still on her table. I looked at one and saw it was of me and her. I was wearing my Eliza dress, with Scarlett wearing the Peggy dress. I couldn't help but stifle a chuckle. She was cute.

I placed her penguin back on the bed with her and kissed her forehead.

"Good night my little penguin." I whispered before leaving. "Tomorrow, I'll bring you to work and teach you so many things... Just promise you won't grow up on me too fast... I can't bare to see that happen." I smiled.

I wanted her to stay this tiny forever.
