they were young, bright, happy.
together we burned in the sun, jumped in the ocean and ran on the beaches.

she with her blonde hair and broad smile, the curious glint in her eyes and the kindness radiating from every molecule of her being.

him with his scruffy blonde hair and his strong body, a mischievous energy and a hint of danger.

and the one i loved so dearly, with black hair and dark skin, wise and ambitious, omniscience seeping from his pores.

we stood together, that night, and burned that fucking palace to the ground.

but alas, the flames changed nothing as they lapped up the building.
the three young, bright, happy children's screams did as they burned.
