Jake's POV
We ran through the woods for hours till we crossed the border into the territory. It was very overwhelming because of the new scents from other wolves. The beta showed me around the border then showed me around the camp. He first showed me the Alphas house and I caught a whiff of her scent. My wolf and I both became hurt at the thought of her being in there alone with him.
I already was depressed from not being with her, and Eros cut off my mind link with her. I had no way to communicate with her, no way to be with her. I needed to come up with a plan.
I need to find out more about her mark. Does she belong to Eros, or does she belong to the alpha of this pack?
"You thinking about something?" The beta asks me
"Actually yeah." I say. "Whats the story behind Kyra's mark." I ask
"Long ago when werewolves weren't accepted by humans they would have hunters. They would track down werewolves and kill them. Long story short the moon goddess needed to protect our kind. So she sent special humans with a mark. They were called breeders at the time. Never has one been a werewolf, until your ex mate came along. Eros was supposed to have his during the war with the hunters, but I guess the moon goddess made him wait. The pack is lucky to have survived without having the full blooded werewolves to fight the hunters. He never mated with another wolf. He was determined to wait for his true mate like the moon goddess wanted. Now she is here, and Eros will not let her go." He tells me
"So she is meant to be his?" I ask out loud
"Yes." He states.
My wolf and I collapse to the ground, being so hurt knowing that our mate is not ours. Knowing that I will never love again. Knowing we can't live without her. It's like the mating mark never left her, I can still feel her alive, but thats all. My wolf and I won't survive this, and we have already came to terms with that. I will have to spend eternity alone.
"Are you okay?" The beta asks seeing me on the forest floor.
"Yeah." I lie as I stand up.
"Your not taking this well are you." He says
"How would you be taking it if your new alpha stole your mate from you." I snap at him.
"I guess not well." He says. "You can relax in the pack house for the rest of the day." He tells me.
"Thanks." I say.
How are you doing Kyra? I ponder.
"I hope you are doing ok. I don't know if I could live if I let him hurt you." I try to link to her.
No response..
I will find a way to fix this, or I will die trying.
