Kristal and I were packed up into a drivable RV and driven to a castle. No. Literally. A castle.
“Um…You live here?” I asked.
“We live here.” Evelyn said.
“There are more than just you 6. We take in kids for only temporary amounts of time, for as little as a week and up to a year. We also help train Steleto children and their powers.” Stein replied.
“In turn, those kids help train others and work in businesses we own. Status Quo Academy, for example. Oh, and the Mod. And many others you’ve probably never heard of.” Hannah stated.
“And if we really need money, we start up a traveling circus. Kids show off their magnificent powers for Pawns who love the supernatural.” Reese grinned.
“And now…” Violet began.
“You’re the newest members…” Naomi said.
“Of our odd family!” They both said together, grinning and striking poses.
Kristal and I looked at each other for a long while.
We started to laugh. The family looked at us, utterly confused.
“Count us in.” Together we said.
