Chapter 20

(Love at Last)

Laurin rolled up the last of her hair into tussled bun. It would come, tumbling down with the

slightest touch and that was just the effect she wanted. Nathan had his problems and she would be

there for him when ever he needed her but at the moment she needed to get down to work. The stage

was all but ready and the girls were probably waiting for her arrival. She hated leaving them but it was

her job. She couldn't lose her work; that's what paid her bills and she hated borrowing money from Elliot

and Nathan. They never seemed to want it back. They rather burn it rather than let her pay back.

"I believe you can handle things here." She gave Candice a smile and she nodded not really

looking her in the eyes. Laurin figured; she felt sorry for her. With a sigh she began to slip on her heels.

"Do you have to go?" Candice asked this time turning fully towards Laurin.

"Where are you going?" Anthony asked walking out of the game room. Laurin looked at both their

faces and cracked a smile.

eyes and she all but fell into his arms. She didn't realize how tall he was. His broad yet lean shoulders

"Anthony." She whispered his name. What was wrong with her? Her brain stopped working with

her tongue. It was thinking something else and her lips moved to another beat.

"I understand its work; but I would like to walk you down if you don't mind." He grinned. Laurin

opened her mouth to tell him no; but she found herself with no choice but to say yes. Her heart was

taking over her brain and she couldn't help but feel relieved. It felt so easy to let her heart just take over.

"Sure. That's sweet of you." With a shy smile they began walking downstairs. As they reached the

bottom floor; Laurin turned towards him and rested her hands on his chest. He was warm, and her

hands fit so well over his pecks.

"Thank you." She grinned and began to leave him behind. Anthony grabbed her wrist and walked

besides her. She turned to him shocked.

"I'm going to drop you inside. You should know I'm a gentlemen." He teased. Laurin giggled and
