"Hey, baby! I miss you." Despite the assemblage of desolation lurking through your bones, you still grinned at the camera as you spoke to your beautiful boyfriend over video chat. While it had seemed to you as if millennia had passed since you last spoke, it has only been nearing a month since he decided to take up the amazing offer thrust upon him.

Stuart was an overwhelmingly intelligent guy, and the knowledge that accumulated in that brain of his filled you with awe and wonder. It was only a matter of time before his impeccable skills transported him to bigger, better things in life. Last Summer, he had been graced with the opportunity to participate in an internship for a chance to snatch a job at Google, the people behind one of the world's largest phenomena. You recalled the endless video calls the two of you had exchanged then, which largely consisted of complaints cast towards his teammates that had, however, transformed into compliments and praise as the weeks went on.

Happiness and praise sparkled in your heart for your boyfriend and his spectacular accomplishments, especially since they were encroaching so soon in his life. You loved to hear him talk about it, the way his eyes would light up or the permanent smile that resided on his face. He had found his calling, his destiny. You only sometimes wished that you had a larger role in that, with the seemingly massive distance between you two.

"I miss you, too, babe." His words caused you to blush, even though you had heard the pet name countless times before. Something about him always had this occasionally aggravating way to set your insides aflame, each time with a deeper, more passionate love than before. "How's my beautiful girl doing?"

"I'm good, yeah. Better now that I get to see you."

"Same here." He grinned, pushing his black glasses farther up his nose.

"So? How's everything going out there? Chetty begging for you to come back yet?"

"No, not yet. I'm expecting him to crack about a week from now, tops." After Stuart had completed his senior year of college, he had returned to Google headquarters with the full job he had been promised the year before. He excelled at it, exceeding not only his expectations, but those of his boss, Roger Chetty. In fact, he was improving so rapidly to the point that Chetty had requested he move to another Google corporation where more help was needed for a couple of months. More pay was included, as well as being given his own office. Stuart knew he couldn't pass up the job, which leads to where the two of you are now. A million miles may separate the two of you, but your relationship is still stronger than ever. "How is everyone out there?"

"They're all good, same as always."

"They miss me yet?" He smirked playfully, causing you to giggle and nod.

"Oh, yeah. Totally. Every time I go to visit them, they're just sitting at their desks balling their eyes out."

"I bet." He tapped his fingers on the desk in front of him, rubbing his thumb over his bottom lip. "I, uh, actually have something to tell you."

"What is it?" You asked, concerned.

"I might be out here a little longer than we originally planned." His words were released slowly, as if giving you enough time to process each one before conjuring up a proper response. Your heart dropped to the ground, almost heavy enough to bring you down with it.

"How long?" A frown replaced your smile.

"I don't really know, I haven't talked it over with my superiors that much yet. I wanted to come talk to you about it first." His brown eyes matched the apprehensiveness and sadness spread across the rest of his face.

"Stuart, you know what I'm going to say." You chuckled a little, a melancholy smile taking over your lips. "If this is really what you want to do—if this is what you want for your future—then I say go for it. This is obviously what you're good at, baby, and I don't want to stand in the way of that."
