"Cause you never think that the last time is the last time. You think there will be more. You think you have forever but you don't."

/Grey's Anatomy/

Blake's POV:

The more days passed, the worse it seemed to get. Luke was always drunk, drinking or passed out, the TV was always on, at least he ate. As for Eden, she stayed in her room all the time, thinking no one noticed it when she sneaked out during the nights to get into Ruby's old room next door. Who knew how she even got in there, knowing the level of security even when the Gold's weren't staying there, yet I had the feeling someone knowingly let her get in, feeling bad for her, Henry or perhaps even Ruby's dad.

My mom, Lucy was trying her best to support both of these fools, as was I, yet it seemed to get worse, them eating less, Eden not even bothering to eat for days at times, or maybe she did, none of us knew.

I walked up to Luke who was once again passed out, a bottle of vodka in the arm that hung from the couch, the smell of alcohol surrounding him. Grabbing the bottle from his arm and putting it next to tens of them standing on the table, I opened the water bottle in my hand and poured the contents of it on him: "rise and shine, bestie."

"What the fuck?" Luke slurred as he got up from the couch, "are you insane?"

"Oh, I'm perfectly fine, thanks for asking," I replied sarcastically, "this has to stop. Also, shower, you stink."

He looked at me for a second in disbelief then shooed me away with his hand as he turned on his side, his back now facing me.

"Really? Are you 10 or something?" I couldn't help but laugh.

As expected, he ignored me. I sighed, picking up the bottles surrounding the couch: "she would be disappointed in you."

I could hear the chuckle coming from him: "Which one? Lea or Ruby? Either way they're both dead. Might as well drink my life away as I am too much of a coward to kill myself."

Shaking my head, I sat down on the couch: "don't be silly. You still have me and Ed."

He turned around: "we only bring each other death."

I looked at him, trying to understand whether it was the alcohol or the actual Luke speaking. In a way that was true, we had only lost people ever since Lea's death. It was as if karma was clapping back at us for doing all these bad things to people, for playing them. Clearly doing the same to Ruby had only resulted in worse things. What was originally 6 people gang, now only consisted of 3.

"You need to sober up buddy," I said, getting up from the couch, "we'll talk then."

Never did it reach my mind that the possibility wouldn't be there the next morning as exactly a week after Ruby had died, Luke had left us. No one knew where he went, what he planned to do, nothing, he just left.

That's how 3 became 2.

Hanna's POV:

"Ready to go?" I asked as I picked up the 4 coffee's and a bag with ben&jerry's half baked from the counter.

"You do realize they will kick you out, right?" Andre asked as he took the coffee tray from my hands, and I looked at him suspiciously, "what? You dropped 3 of them last time, no way I'm letting you carry them."

I shrugged, unlocking the car that stood outside the coffee shop: "if they do, it'll be worth it."

It had been a week and a half ever since we had found Ruby dead. The blood she had lost was a lot, yet not enough to kill her as Austin had made sure to keep her just barely alive. Her heart stopped beating for a total of 20 minutes, caused by a drug that had been inserted in her body over the days she was gone. The risk of her dying was undeniable, yet, thanks to the drug, the chances of her not dying slimmed the possibility of death near non-existent.
