Chapter 14

Robyn

When I woke up the next day, Toby was gone. I sat up looked around then noticed that there was the pillow and the blanket laying there, folded at least, and the goggles were gone, so it mostly proved he left. Obviously. I got off my bed and stood up then stretched, it was a habit for me to do that, but on well. I looked at the time and my eyes widened.

I remembered that Murdoch was coming over. I sighed in relief when I noticed it's not even noon, like we had planned it. He was coming at noon, we would start piecing together the project, then if we have free time before he has to go; well we'd just hang out then.

The only thing I am begging Toby not to do... Is get in the way and drive Murdoch away. He's a friend, and kind of the only other person who's there for me, and the only person that can cheer me up much more quicker than Sharon, though Sharon will always be my best friend, because she's also there for me.

After I got dressed and finished my parts of the project, I looked at the time again. It was finally noon - he'll probably be a little late. Ding-dong! I stand corrected. Right before I can beat Alyssa to the door, she had already opened it and was letting Murdoch in. Alyssa smiled deviously as her eyes went from me to Murdoch, then she shook her head looked at me again

"Sorry for the short notice but I'm gonna have a jog around the neighborhood, don't do something stupid, I'll be back in probably an hour since I'll be running two and I'm pretty slow" Alyssa said then she walked out, I didn't even notice she was in jogging clothes until she told me. Murdoch looked at me

"Something stupid?" He said questionably then smiled, I shook my head and laughed a little

"My sister is weird, what she says is just.. Blegh" I stated, them we both laughed

"Alright so the project, I brought the poster board and the materials, most of them are already placed on the poster board, I just need most of the information and a bit more material, but I'm sure you can help with that right?" Murdoch explained as I escorted him to the kitchen, he laid the poster board on the table and placed the material he had on the side.

"Of course I would, it's my part to help since I already finished mine, here, I think I have some stuff that might go with the poster" I said as we both laid out the poster, I poked around some stuff and explained what can be placed or moved around. I glad he didn't glue it in, he used a black poster board so he used chalk to draw it in where he thought most of the material should go. Of course, that was a pretty good idea

"Alright smarty pants, let's get to work" Murdoch stated as added in a slight chuckle into the end of his sentence, which in turn I shook my head and smiled a little more, then we started to get to work. So far, it's been a amazing day.

After the setting out the whole thing, we took a break, we still had about a week left so it can be finished by Monday, so far it was about one in the afternoon. I can't believe how time flew so quickly, almost too quickly. I hated that. Suddenly a clatter, a loud one, came from my room, Murdoch looked at me, and I looked back at him

"Sorry, something probably fell in my room, I'll be right back, you can look around if you want" I stated as I stood up and walked upstairs to my room, when I opened it, there stood Toby, and right in front of his feet laid my snow globe, well shattered snow globe, I frowned and looked up at Toby. He had his arms crossed and he chuckled nervously

"My bad?" He said, though my frown did not leave, I narrowed my eyes then shook my head and sighed

"Seriously Toby? Why'd you do that? In fact, why did you even grab my snow globe?" I questioned him

"Okay, I needed to get your attention, so I thought I'd break something and see if that got your attention, so I saw your snow globe and I meant to look at it but then I decided I can break that so I did" Toby explained, though throughout the whole explanation he sounded like a little kid trying to convince his mother to give him a cookie.

"What do you need Toby?" I asked, I was trying to stay as calm as I can; that wasn't working out too well.

"He's here, why's that?" At first I didn't know who 'he' was, that is until it hit me; he meant Murdoch. I sighed

"He's a friend Toby, we have a project to work on together, you don't need to be upset about that" I inquired as I crossed my arms, which in turn he uncrossed his and huffed

"I'm not upset! I just don't want him here" Toby snapped, then slumped on my bed

"Well Toby, you can't order me to have him leave, he's a guest and I don't want you scaring him away" I said then walked out of my room and closed the door behind me, I completely forgot about the snow globe though, I didn't really acknowledge it at the moment, when I headed downstairs I heard.. A piano playing, not in a radio, not from the tv, not from here, I walked to my piano room and opened the door quietly, there playing the piano was Murdoch, it was a slow melody, I knew the song like the back of my hand

It was from the corpse bride; the piano duet, he sat on the left playing the slow part. I sat next to him and heard him play, then when I knew the time was right, I played the higher parts, Murdoch looked at me and smiled, then played when I paused. Right after our little 'Talkative' parts, we played the full song to where his hand needed up touching mine. I blushed when that happened, I looked at him for a moment, he looked back at me, that's when I noticed something.

He was leaning in. I blushed a bit more as he got closer to me - no, to my lips. I didn't know what to do, the minuet his lips were centimeters away from mine, there was a loud crash coming from my room, and I snapped out of it, I thought of Toby.

And how somewhat relived to hear him make a noise and ruin this moment that would've been perfect if I never knew him. But I do, and I remember our kiss, I remember how soft his lips were, and I remember that he might be angry if he saw this.
