Kion and Fuli arrive at the lair. The other members turn to face them.
"Kion! Fuli! We were so worried." Exclaims Beshte.
"Our marks were glowing yellow!" Marvels Bunga.
"Any idea what happened?" Asks Ono.
Kion leads Fuli to a rock to sit on. She lies down and explains what happened.
"While I was out hunting, I saw Makucha."
"What's he doing in the Pridelands?" Asks Beshte.
"I don't know. He said he wanted to talk to me. We talked...for a while, then he attacked me." Replies Fuli.
"I think it had something to do with Scar. While I was tracking Fuli, I overheard Scar saying something about growing power and wanted Fuli because she unleashed hers first." Says Kion.
"That would explain the yellow glow. But how did you do it, Fuli?" Asks Ono.
Fuli thinks about this for a moment. "I don't know. When Makucha scratched my mark, I place my paw on it and whispered help."
Bunga, Beshte and Ono look at Fuli's mark and couldn't see any sign of a scratch.
"What scratch?" asks Beshte.
"Something else we're not sure about." Replies Kion. "We need to talk to Rafiki about this."
"You guys should rest up. You look exhausted." Says Ono eyeing Kion and Fuli. "We'll talk to Rafiki later."
Kion couldn't help but let out a yawn and feel how heavy his eyes are. Fuli however, liked the sound of a nap and lowers her head onto her paws.
"Ok. See ya when we wake up." Smiles Kion when he sees the others leaving the lair.
He lies down next to Fuli, wrapping his tail around her. Kion licks her cheek and Fuli couldn't help but let out a purr.

An hour or so later, Fuli wakes up. She nuzzles Kion's cheek.
"Rise and shine, sleeping beauty." Fuli laughs.
Kion groans, not opening his eyes.
"Come on, Kion. Get up." She orders.
"Alright, alright, I'm up." Kion mumbles.
Fuli stands and stretches. She felt very well rested.
"Let's go find the others." Fuli smiles.
"Ok let's go." He replies.

They leave the lair and go to Rafiki's tree. They find Rafiki talking with Bunga, Beshte and Ono.
"...and our marks were glowing yellow!" Explains Bunga.
"Hmm..." Replies the mandrill. "Ahh, Kion and Fuli. There you are."
The others turn to see them.
"Rafiki wants to know more details." Explains Ono.
Fuli starts off. "I found Makucha sneaking up on a herd, I stopped him, we talked, then he attacked."
"Did you put your paw over your mark and called for help by any chance?" Asks Rafiki.
"Well...yeah. When Makucha scratched my shoulder, I put my paw over it and asked for help because I couldn't defeat him alone. I didn't think anyone would actually come but Kion did." She replies.
Rafiki looks at Fuli's shoulder and couldn't see a scratch.
"I don't see a scratch. Kion?"
"When I found Fuli, I put my paw on her mark and concentrated my power on it. I guess, it helped Fuli's injury." Answers Kion.
"Ah ha! This explains everything! A legend to life!" Cheers Rafiki.
He disappears into his tree and the guard follows him inside.

Rafiki shows the guard some old paintings on a wall covered by vines. He taps his staff onto the paintings and watches them move. The guard looks at moving paintings in awe. This never got old for them.
"Legend says that only the best of the best can have these special abilities: tracking, healing, seeing, signalling and speaking. Some of these abilities were unleashed by you two, Kion and Fuli." Explains Rafiki.
"So we're the first to EVER have these powers? UN-BUNGA-LIEVABLE!!" Yells Bunga.
Ono speaks up before Bunga could go on and on about the new abilities. "How did we get these abilities? We may be different from the other lion guards but..."
"You are different from the other guards and stronger because you have friendship and trust. The great kings chose you to have these abilities because they believe in you. It will take time and practice to master these powers." Says Rafiki cutting off Ono.
"But why get these powers now?" Asks Fuli.
"I don't know. Perhaps the great kings wanted to make sure you were ready. But I fear something is coming, something bad. You must practice your powers but be careful. Using these abilities uses up your energy." Warns Rafiki.
"When do we start?" Asks Beshte, but only to get whacked on the head by Rafiki's stick. "OW!"
"Is that even a question?! We start now." Orders the mandril.
