Chapter Three

                  Danni’s POV

My first night went surprisingly well in my new house; the only problem was that I had the same nightmare that has trouble me for years since my parents' death, but that’s no surprise. I can hear their screams, I can smell their skin burning, and there is nothing I could do to save them. Only getting a couple of hours of sleep, I get up and take a shower to cleanse my body and soul.

Today I think I will make a list of things I need before going into town to explore and to look different ways to escape for emergencies. I hope to find a second hand store to find a dresser for my room which is freaking awesome. The moment I walked in I was jumping around like a spider monkey on mountain dew; love that movie quote from Talladega Nights.

It's painted a dark purple with crisp white trim and had a big window with a window sit. My favorite part was that there’s a little ladder that went up to a balcony that had books packed on a built in bookcase then there’s a door that leads to the highest point of the house with a balcony big enough to have a chair to read or watch the view. Also I need new bedding for the bed which was an old antique iron bed with the paint chipping off. I love the character of it!

As I got ready, I decide to cook myself a nice big breakfast. Hopping down the stairs to at a time, I grab my iPod and hook it up to the speakers and start playing some music. I’m the type of person when I cook I have to have music. It relaxes me and takes me to a different world. Now when it comes to music I love anything, but oldies holds a special part in my heart because that was all my parents listen to when I was growing up.

“Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch. You know that I love you. I can't help myself.  I love you and nobody else,” I sing at the top of my lungs as dance around waiting to flip the bacon.

Now when it comes to bacon, I will kill someone if they touch my bacon. You might think I am joking, but I will seriously kill you so don’t even try it.

As I was making my eggs the doorbell rings. Once again I get nervous and grab my gun. I look through the side window and relax when I see Alexis and a tall blond guy with her.

After hiding the gun, I unlock the door when Alexis quickly hugs me and I am taken back a little, but couldn’t help but laugh. She is probably the most lovable woman I have ever met.

“Hey Alexis great to see you again,” I happily greet. Today she is dressed in a short summery yellow dress and white sandals. Her curly hair is in a messy bun with a few pieces falling freely.

“Hi, I would like to introduce you to my husband, Erik,” Alexis answers with a loving smile. I look up to him and could tell that in his eyes that he truly loved his wife and is where Kent got his hazel eyes; I really wish I could find someone like that.

I extend my hand to shake his and he happily takes it, “It’s finally nice to meet you, Alexis has told me so much about,” says Erik with a warm friendly smile.

I had to laugh at that because I only met her yesterday; how much could you talk about me.

“Well I'm cooking breakfast now, would you both like some,” I politely ask.

Erik looked around me towards the kitchen and ask, “Did you cook bacon?”

“What type of person would I be if I didn’t?” I laugh as I roll my eyes playfully.

I ushered them both to the kitchen while I continue cooking. It was really nice to talk and laugh with people. When you are running all the time it gets really lonely and I like being around people once in a while.
