Chapter 11- Love under the stars

~ Pearl's POV ~
I really just told Marina that I'm a lesbian. Wow.
But she's one too! You know what that means.. GAY BUDDIES!
Nah it means that she can be my girlfriend lol.
But how to ask her.. that's complicated.
I'll take her out for dinner and it will be a big surprise! Or just cliche.
But I'll plan something sooner or later.
"I'm ready for bed. Goodnight Pearl." Marina says and turns out the light.
"Can I sleep with you?" I ask.
"Sure" She replies.
I lay in bed next to her and snuggle into the covers.
"Goodnight"
"I love you" I whisper.
I think I'm gonna confess to her tomorrow.
Definitely.

                        ~ Marina's POV ~
I'm going to confess to her tomorrow.
Definitely.
I really love that girl and I have the perfect plan.
I'm going to take her on a motorcycle ride, then go to a big field and stargaze. Then when the time is right, I'll ask.
Perfect idea.

                             ~The Next Day~
"Wake up!" Pearl yells in my ear.
"I'm up, I'm up, okay?" I groan.
"Yes! Also, no work today! It's Sunday!"
Perfect. I love having days off.
Without any warning, Pearl drags me downstairs to the kitchen table.
"I made you breakfast. Hope you like it!" Pearl exclaims.
"The toast and eggs are burnt.." I say.
"Don't worry it takes good."
"The coffee is burnt too.."
I take a bite. This tastes absolutely disgusting but I don't want to hurt her feelings, so I eat all of it anyways.
"Mmm Pearl that was um, delicious!" I lie.
"Glad you liked it."
"I'm gonna get dressed now" I say.
"I will too." Pearl replies.
I go upstairs to my bedroom and Pearl goes to hers.
Hmm.. what would be the perfect outfit for today?
I pick out jeans and a crop top.
Just something a little simple.
I open my door to see Pearl dressed in a pink hoodie.
She's so cute.
                        ~time skip to 3 AM~
"Pearl. I'm gonna take you out somewhere. It's a surprise!" I exclaim.
"Okay, but why so late? It's 3 AM!"
"Don't question it. Let's just go."
I carry her bridal style outside to my motorcycle and put her on.
I hear her giggle.
I start driving and get on the empty expressway.
"Go faster, Mar!" Pearl screams.
I obey and go 140 miles per hour.
"Holy shit" I say under my breath.
I think I'm going a little bit too fast but it's empty so I can do this if I want.
Pearl puts her hands up in the air.
But she only did that for 5 seconds and immediately put her hands back on my waist.
Hopefully there's no police around.
Hmm, where would the nearest field be?
I slow down a bit to look at a map on my phone.
Ok I see a big patch of land right where I am.
I go into the far right lane and go into the grass and ride down this short mountain to a plain of land.
"Where exactly are we..?" Pearl questions.
"I have no clue, actually."
I park my motorcycle and get off.
Pearl does also.
I walk over with her to the middle.
We sit down next to each other.
"Why exactly did you bring me here?" Pearl asks me.
"To stargaze! Don't you like space?"
"Yeah I do bu-"
"Look! You can see Venus from here!" I interrupt.
I hear her sigh.
"What is it? You don't find this entertaining?"
"No, because there's like 5 stars out."
"Oh um I'm sorry."
I move closer to her.
"Uh, Marina? You're acting kind of strange.. Is it because you're tired or something? I don't know you seem nervous.." Pearl questions.
"N-no! I'm fine!" I assure her.
"Okay whatever you say.."
We sit in silence for a couple minutes.
When should I ask her?
Maybe I should wait a bit.
"So do you have any ideas for a new song?" I wondered.
"Uh, no but we should start working on one soon.."
I nod my head in agreement.
I don't know what else to say.
I can barely see any stars. Pearl was right, there is like 5 stars out.
What a great time to stargaze.
"Hey Pearl what do you like about me? Why did you choose me as your partner?"
" Well, you were the only one who actually liked me. You're so sweet and kind. You always make me laugh, even when you're teasing me. The other artists who rejected me missed out on this."
"Yeah all 4 feet of sarcasm and anger."
"Hey!"
I giggle.
"What about you, Marina? What do you like about me?" Pearl asks.
"You're super talented! Without you, Off The Hook wouldn't be as great as it is. You also make me smile all the time. I can't really say all the things I like about you because there's way too many.."
"Aww thank you."
I feel Pearl's arms wrap around me.
"Uhh Marina..? I have something to tell you."
"Actually, I do too."
Oh gosh my heart is racing.
"I love you Pearl!"
"I love you Marina!"
We yell at each other at the same time.
"You do too?!"
"You do too?!"
We say together and die laughing.
"So uh will you be my girlfriend..?" Pearl asks.
"Of course! I love you!" I exclaim and bring her into a hug.
"I love you too!" Pearl screams.
I can't believe she likes me too!
Oh my gosh! I'm so happy!
The next thing I know, her lips are on mine.
This time we aren't drunk.
I feel loved for once.
I want this to last forever.
My arms are around her shoulders.
Her hands travel my back.
But unfortunately, this kiss didn't last very long.
We pull apart.
I laugh at what I see in front of me.
Our ink colors mixed together!
"Aww! Turquoise looks so cute on you!" I squeal.
"W-what?" Pearl questions. She looks at herself through her phone's camera.
"I look ridiculous!"
"No you don't!
"Whatever. Shouldn't we be home now? It's like almost five in the morning.."
"Oh! We should get going.."
I carry Pearl to my motorcycle and put her on the backseat.
I get in the front and start driving.
This time I'm not going to pass the speed limit.
After 15 minutes, we arrive back to our apartment.
We run inside and to my bedroom.
"I'm so tired.." I sigh.
"Me too" Pearl agrees.
I turn off the light and we get into bed.
I cuddle up to Pearl.
"Goodnight. I love you." I whisper in her ear.
I don't get to hear a reply because Pearl is already sound asleep.
I can't believe she's my girlfriend now. I'm literally so happy.
This is a dream come true.
