26. Birthday

Sitting at the ends of the couch, both Sumi and Hoseok gets ready to watch a horror movie together. To get the perfect feels, they dim the lights and close the curtains so no light would make way into their living room. But this only made Hoseok more scared.

Hoseok decided to spend some time together with his wife since they didn't have anything to do after having breakfast on a lazy weekend.
When he asked what movie she wants to watch, she asked if they could watch Conjuring. Sumi is scared of such movies too but she still likes watching them.

After all, horror movies, chocolate and kpop are addictions we can't get away from.
Once you enter, you can't exit.

With popcorn placed in between them, both of them sit on the couch with their legs crossed.
Hoseok is scared of horror movies but poor Sumi doesn't know that.
She increases the volume and covers her face with her hands while peeking from between her fingers.

Looking at Sumi from the corner of his eyes, Hoseok clutches his shirt tightly with his nails digging into his palms. He doesn't want to be embarrassed near his wife but he can't control his actions.
He grabs a handful of popcorn and stares at it while biting his lip but when he hears a loud screech coming from the movie, he jumps in surprise and gets the popcorn all over his lap.

"Uhm..sorry. I sneezed" he lies to Sumi and she nods before staring at the movie again.

With his hands placed on either sides of his body, he clenches his teeth when the hitch pitched soundtrack started to become more scary.
Sumi observes him and thinks about how to make him feel better. After contemplating for a minute, she slowly reaches to his hand and tries placing her hand on his while staring down at her lap.

But right when their hands touched, the scary woman in a nun dress pops up on the screen making Hoseok scream loudly.
Sumi flinches and looks at her husband who was now looking at her embarrassed.

They stay silent for a while before Hoseok looks away, covering his face in embarrassment but Sumi taps on his shoulder and stands before him.

"Hm?" Hoseok hums while staring at her.

"Ha-Happy birthday" she wishes him while holding out a bracelet before him.

A wide smile makes way on her husband's face and he thanks her before taking the present.

"This is..this is so pretty. Did you make it?" he smiles, his eyes making crescent shapes.

"I did" she nods and smiles back at him.

The black bracelet with string and a metal cross pendant shines brightly on his beautiful wrist and the couple smile while staring at it.

"Thank you so much, Sumi" he stands up, towering her.

They stare at each other, the moment heating both their hearts and bodies. Sumi gulps and looks down while Hoseok still has his eyes on her.

He brushes her hair slowly and she looks up at him with her face flushed and fingers numb.
She was about to reach his hand on her head but the door bell rings making them part.

We all know he deserves so much more, so let's give him all our love and protect him at all costs.
The way he takes care of people around him makes me so happy and I'm glad that our boys have him by their side.
