It was 6:30 now and she kind of wanted to meet up with Dean before the match
"Ro? Are you ready?" She asked, knocking on his door that opened seconds later, Roman walked out in black jeans and a blue polo
"Yeah, let's go," he said and they left for the school
Riley and Roman sat down next to Seth and looked at everyone who had already showed up
"I'm gonna go see Dean," Riley said and the boys nodded, she got up and walked to the locker room, she was let in since they knew her and Dean were a thing
She went to his cubicle and sighed when she saw him, shirtless and wrapping his wrists
"Hey baby," she greeted, he looked up at her and smiled, standing up to kiss her
"Hey," he breathed out and she tilted her head
"Nervous?" She asked and he nodded slightly
"A little," he replied and she nodded, understandingly, everyone would get nervous when their whole school was depending on them
"You're gonna be great," she assured, as he put on his chest piece and then his jersey
He looked into the mirror that was hung and slicked back his hair, sliding on the cap
"I'm sure I will. Got a girl to impress tonight," he said winking at her and she bit her lip
"C'mon boys," the coach said and Dean stood up
"I'll see you later," he said, before he reached into his locker and pulled out his new 'Ambrose 85' shirt
"Nothing would make me happier than seeing my girl wearing my name and number," he said and she slid the jersey over her outfit
"You're so beautiful," he said, eyes gleaming with love as they looked her over and then he pressed a kiss to her forehead
She walked back over and sat with Roman and Seth who teased her about her choice of clothing
It was now time for their side to bat and first was Finn Balor, when he was outed, Dolph Ziggler came out, then Zack Ryder and after Zack was run out, they announced the captain would make an appearance and Riley stood up and cheered when she saw the big '85' on his back
She sat back down and watched him do his thing, looking gorgeous as he perfected every swing
Dean had begun running after being out there for nearly an hour and Riley's breath caught as he fell and his face scrunched up in pain
He rolled onto his back as the team ran out to see what had become of their captain
Riley felt like her heart stopped and she only heard the blood rushing to her ears as she began running to the place where he was desperately rubbing his thigh, trying to get back feeling in
Riley stooped near him, and did what she did the other day when his thigh had spasmed when he was training
She dug her fingers into the muscle and kneaded it roughly, applying pressure to certain points, he flexed his foot and soon the spasm subsided and Riley helped him to his feet and he pecked her lips, before raising his helmet and making the crowd cheer as Riley went back up to the stands
Dean ended up winning the match for the team staying until last, the confetti was shot then the team handed Dean the trophy and he was raised onto shoulders and cheered on, Riley was so excited but the excitement drained out of her when she saw him limp off the field and into the back
She gestured to Roman and Seth who got up and followed her to the back
Dean was in his compression shorts when they got there the medic squeezing the muscle in his thigh
"You tore your vastus medialis, you need surgery," the medic told him and Dean leaned his head back against the lockers, taking a deep breath and screwing his eyes shut
The three that were by the door gasped and Riley bit her lip, thanking god season was over, Dean would have been crushed if he hadn't been able to play out the season
Riley walked over when the medic left and she gasped when Dean grabbed her hips and pulled her into his lap
"Dean, you're injured," she said but smiled as he pressed his face into her neck
"Other foot," he replied, holding her close to him
"It's gonna be okay, I'll take care of you," she said, smile widening when he pressed a kiss to her neck
"I love you," he said and she smiled and played with his hair
"I love you to," she replied
"Your baby's a champion," he said smiling at her and she took his cheeks in her hand and pressed a kiss to his lips
"My baby was always my champion," she replied and he smiled at her, leaning in for another kiss
"Ewwww!" Roman and Seth playfully said in sync and Dean playfully rolled his eyes
"Grow up dickbags," he said and smiled as Riley traced patterns on his bare chest. Yeah, he was scared about this surgery thing, but he also knew he'd be alright if he had this beautiful girl and his two dickbags friends by his side, he'd be alright.
