She's Been Ignoring Me

"Hey Riley," Dean said, smiling as she passed him in the hallway

She turned to see who called her with a smile, until she realized who it was and Dean saw something flash behind her eyes, but he couldn't quite make it out because it happened so fast

Riley's breath hitched and she wanted to give him a big smile, but just when her lips twitched, Roman's words flew through her mind and she let her eyes linger on his face before she looked and walked away

Dean tilted his head at her and huffed

He had been trying all week to be closer with her, and that's what she did everytime, run away. It made something in his chest lurch. Did he do something wrong?

He shook it off and walked to where Seth and Roman were waiting for him but his mind was far away, his blue eyes appeared as distant as his mind was, and Seth and Roman noticed

"Bud, what's wrong?" Seth said, rubbing the back of Dean's neck comfortingly as he frowned, he was definitely the sweetheart of the group, he hated when people were distraught

Roman briefly glanced at him, then looked back down at his play book, he'd love to help but he really needed to revise these plays before lunch since he forgot about them yesterday, playing video games with Riley late yesterday

"It's Riley man," Dean answered, sighing

Roman's eyes flickered up as he began listening to their conversation while still trying to learn plays

"She's been ignoring me." Dean said sadly

"I don't know why, I really was starting to-" Dean began, wiping his nose

"Never mind, it's stupid, she probably doesn't even feel the same way," Dean said sighing

Roman felt bad now, Dean was sad because of him and he'd also known he hurt Riley by his forbiddance of Riley from seeing Dean

"Dean," Roman called lowly, Dean ruffled a hand through his hair before looking at Roman and making a noise of acknowledgement

"I may have told Riley that you were bad news," Roman said, teasing his tone with regret

Dean was a pretty peaceful guy so to see so many emotions wizz past his eyes was terrifying, least when his usually calm crystalline blue eyes blazed with red hot anger, he grabbed Roman by his shirt and briefly shook him

"You did what?!" He yelled

Dean was small compared to Roman but he was really built and he probably could kick Roman's ass if he got pissed enough. Seth's brown eyes were wide with horror as he looked at his two best friends but the situation quickly simmered down when Dean's previously angry demeanor, grew weary and he let go of Roman and his blue eyes grew sad

"I thought you were my friend," Dean said, voice breaking at the betrayal Roman was showing

"Dean, I'm-" Roman didn't get to finish, because Dean cut him off

"Don't, just don't. I really don't wanna hear anything you have to say right now, look just, just don't talk to me anymore," Dean said, walking off

Roman face-palmed, feeling horrible, he hurt his best friend and his sister, Seth patted him on the back apologetically, before he followed after Dean, to make sure he was alright

Riley sat with Nikki, telling her what Roman told her, Nikki couldn't believe it, Riley was her best friend and if some guy got her so worked up because she couldn't be around him, it obviously was something strong.

Riley looked up as Dean walked into the class, Seth followed, Dean looked at her sadly and huffed, before he turned around and sat down with Seth
