Ten minutes later Dax was helping Isabella across the parking lot into the car. She was screaming in pain. And it was clear to him that her contractions had started.

"Ahh!" Isabella screamed as Dax helped her lay down in the back seat.

"Just breathe baby!"

She grabbed his shirt and pulled his face forward. "Get me to a damn hospital!"

"Okay!" Dax said as he rushed over to the driver's seat. His hands were sweating, and he was breathing hard. He pulled out of the parking lot and drove quickly.

"Ooooooooh! OUCH!" Isabella screamed from the back seat.

"Just breathe babe. Inhale, exhale." Dax guided.

"SHUT UP!"

"Okay."

Fifteen minutes later he rushed her into the hospital.

"My wife is c-contractions, she's about to blow. And- and we need a doctor."

"AHHH!" Isabella cried in pain. She squeezed Dax's hand so hard you could hear his knuckles pop.

Within a few minutes she was lying on a hospital bed with her legs spread open. The doctor reached down to see if he could feel one of the heads.

"You are about to give birth Mrs. Walker."

"Yeah I kind of figured!" She screamed in pain.

"Like right now. So on three I need you to push. One, two, three."

As the doctor counted everything went mute to Dax. He looked back and forth from Isabella to the doctor. This was the moment he had been having nightmares about. Isabella squeezed his hand tightly as she screamed.

"Push!" The doctor instructed.

"AHH!" tears began to fall from Isabella's face.

"Come on baby."

After 3 pushes the baby's head was finally out. Dax formed a smile when he heard the baby cry. Before be knew it the first baby was out. He watched as the nurses cleaned the baby. She had blue eyes, and a head full of jet black hair, just like her father. Dax felt a tear roll down his cheek. He turned to Isabella and touched her forehead.

"You've got Alana out come you can do it." He encouraged her.

"It hurts!" Isabella screamed as she pushed again.

"I know! Come on just a little more." Even though he looked calm on the outside he was so sacred on the inside. Alana was fine, but was if Iliana wasn't. He looked at Isabella as she continued to push. He couldn't look down if he looked he might not like what he sees. He waited as he held his wife's hand and watch her cry out in pain. At first his tears were from joy, but now they were because he was terrified. He couldn't let Isabella know that though so he continued to give her an encouraging smile.

He noticed Isabella had stopped pushing but he didn't any crying other than Alana's. He slowly looked up to see Iliana moving. She didn't cry until they began to wash her off. Then Dax took a sigh of relief. She too had black hair, but her eyes were green likes Isabella's.

"They are beautiful baby." He said as he looked down at Isabella.

She gave him a faint smile, "I love you."  then her eyes began to close.

"Bella! Bella!" Dax yelled.

The doctor turned her attention to Isabella.

"Her heart rate is dropping." The doctor called to the other nurses and doctors in the room.

"What?" Dax yelled! One of the nurses began to escort him from the room. "No! No! No!" Dax cried. His vision began to blur from the tears. The nurse couldn't calm him so other male nurses tried to help. They basically held him down as he tried to force his way back into the room Isabella was in.

He watch from a distance through the glass window as his wife's life was slowly slipping away until one of the nurses closed the curtains. He felt his heart sink now he had no clue what was happening to Isabella. He began to hit the walls as he cried.

"Dax!" Maria called.

Dax looked up to see Maria and Dylan running towards him. "We tried to get here as soon as possible but there was a traffic jam!" Maria got a good look at Dax's face and her toned changed. "What's going on? Are the babies okay?"

Dax opened his mouth but he couldn't form a sentence. "Heart...rate."

"What?"

"Dropped."

"Dax I can't hear you! What did you say?" Maria said as she sat on the floor beside him.

Dax looked at his mother "Her heart rate is dropping."

Maria's jaw dropped. She didn't know what to say to him so she just hugged him.

"Daddy, is Mommy okay?"

Dax looked up at his son who stood there in worry. He might have been young, but it wasn't hard for him to figure out something was terribly wrong. The child had, had his fair share of emergency room visits and he knew they wouldn't be crying in the hospital unless something was wrong.

Dax looked up at his son and he wanted to tell him "Yes Mommy is okay. Do you want to see your sisters?" But if he did that he'd be lying. Dax only saw his daughters for a few seconds before he was dragged out of the room. And the very last words Isabella said to him were 'I love you.'

Did she know she was about to die? Did she want to say I love you one more time before she left us? What if she doesn't make it? No, she always makes it through. We always make it through together. Dax thought to himself.

"Mommy is going to be okay." Dax replied as he hugged his son. When Dax looked up again he saw a doctor walk out of the room. He quickly got up up has he held his son.

"Sir, your wife lost a lot of blood during labor. She is stable now, but we have given her medication to put her to sleep. She should wake up in a few hours. Would you like to see your children?" The doctor asked.

Dax nodded his head in agreement. When he stood in front of his two daughters everything seemed so right. They slept so peacefully. He pulled out his phone and snapped a few pictures. "You both look like your mother. You're so beautiful, so beautiful."
