There hadn't been any recent visits from Melanie which was a good thing. Dylan had recovered from his injuries and was getting excited for his birthday. Thanksgiving had went really well. Isabella had finally met Dax's Aunt Diane and Dax had finally met her sister and her family. Dylan and Kyle were happy to see each other and Megan, Kyle's mother, had assured Isabella they'd meet again at Dylan's party. Speaking of Dylan's party, that's exactly what Dax and Isabella were preparing for lately.

Dax was not good at planning parties, but Isabella had planned all of Kyle's birthday parties, and Megan's baby shower so, she knew the process very well. Although Dax wasn't familiar with planning parties he wanted it to be over the top, so he basically wanted the party to be very expensive.

Dylan's party was in two days and Dax was getting stressed.

"What do you mean, his cake won't be ready?" Dax yelled through the phone. "You said my son's cake would be ready at two pm tomorrow afternoon. Now you're telling me it won't. I placed this order two weeks ago, and you Pillsbury Dough Boys couldn't bake it? I'll tell you what my son's, cake better be ready at two o'clock on the dot, December the twelfth and not a millisecond later, or I'll sue you!"

Then Dax angrily hung up the phone, and rubbed his forehead in frustration.

"Are you okay?" Isabella asked.

"No! This is my son's birthday. He never had one before because he was two young to know the meaning of a party. I want this to be special. You can't have a party without a cake!"

"I'll stop by the bakery tomorrow to check on it Dax." Isabella assured him.

Dax and Isabella had been making phone calls all week to ensure that everything was perfect for Dylan's party. Isabella was excited, Dax was too but he was more frustrated than anything. Dylan was sleeping over at his grandmother's so he wouldn't see any of his presents or birthday decorations.

"I need to get to work, babe." Dax said to Isabella.

"Okay."

"I love you." He said kissing her lips before he walked out the door.

"I love you too." Isabella replied as she closed the door behind him.

Dax was gone for about thirty minutes before he called Isabella.

"Hello." Isabella said.

"Babe, can you bring me my brief case? I left it."

"Of course. I'll be there in ten."

Isabella threw on a white, knee high, tight fitting dress, a pair of diamond earrings Dax had bought her, and her red pumps before she walked out of the door. He hair was surprisingly straight from earlier that day, and it looked safe enough to bring him his brief case.

When Melanie's eyes met Isabella her mouth instantly dropped open. Isabella's figure really showed in her dress. Isabella and Melanie did not speak to one another as Isabella made her way into Dax's office. When Isabella was out of sight Melanie looked at her body, mentally comparing herself to Isabella.

When Isabella walked into Dax's office his eyes widened, and he felt his mouth water.

Damn! I've never seen her wear that one before. Why does always come here looking so good? Well, I don't want her to come here looking hideous either. But her and this dress are making me-

"Dax." Isabella said interrupting Dax's thoughts.

"Yeah babe." Dax said startled.

"Here's your brief case sweetie."
