"ArGHhH!!" Gaara screamed, "IT's bLOoD!! mY BloOD!"
When Sasuke tried to pull away from the sand defence, Gaara seemed to wrap more sand around his arm to try and smash it. Gritting his teeth, Sasuke lit up his Chidori for the second time that day and blasted through the sand. Pulling his arm out, he watched as the sand dome disintegrated and from within Gaara emerged.
Although...this wasn't really Gaara. No...this was Shukaku, the One-Tailed Tanuki. He'd taken over half of Gaara's body and the entirety of his consciousness. As feathers floated down from above a loud cry was heard from above in the stadiums.
"It's begun! The Sand and Sound are invading Konoha!" Shiori cried, placing her hand in a ram seal.
"Kai!" The genin centred around the area all broke out of the genjutsu and were ready to deal with the invasion.
(Centred is not a typo. It's how we spell it here)
"Shiori! Did you know about this?" Kakashi asked.
"Yes. I told the Third," Shiori confirmed, "The ANBU know as well."
"I see. Well, Team Two, Seven, Eight and Ten. You have your first official A-rank mission," Gai declared.
"What is it?" Naruto asked.
"To defend this village with your lives," Kakashi said as he flung a kunai into the chest of an Oto nin trying to sneak up on them.
"Today you must understand that being a shinobi is not just about the jutsu and power. It is about defending the place you love with everything you have and resorting to any methods, even killing, to protect that place," Kurenai reinforced.
"Hai!" The genin echoed each others shouts and immediately dispersed to help protect the village.
Akiko, Aoi and Naruto quickly took off to follow Sasuke and Shino whilst Leiko and Shiori followed the chunin and jonin to the battleground at the outskirts of the village.
Orochimaru's snakes had wrecked havoc on the village walls, which in turn gave the Oto and Suna nin the element of surprise.
"Hayate-sensei! Yugao-nee!" Shiori shouted as she saw the two amongst the fray, fighting off several Sound nin. Where were the reinforcements, goddammit?!
Yugao and Hayate stood back to back each holding their sword in one hand.
"Hazy Moon Night!"
"Secret Sword: Moonlight!"
The two dashed in opposite directions of the crowd, their speed leaving after images of their blade, cutting through enemies so quickly they were barely tainted by the blood.
To the side, the tokubetsu jonin, Genma, Anko and Ibiki were busy trying to fend off a team of Earth users. It would have been a comical sight to see Genma spitting what seemed like toothpicks at the Suna nin and actually taking them down with it coupled with Ibiki's giant summoning called the Iron Maiden which looked awfully alike to a Chinese fortune cat. It would've been. Unfortunately, this was in the middle of an invasion. And in an invasion, no amount of toothpick spitting and fortune cats could bring the genin to laugh.
"Kagemane no Jutsu!" Shikamaru shouted, shadows shooting out to bind numerous enemies into place.
"Nikudan Sensha!" Choji followed on by leaving said ninja flattened on the ground and twitching violently.
Leiko smirked at Shiori, "We can't get outdone by them."
Shiori nodded, "Let's go!"
"Water Style: Wild Water Wave!"
