ok so this net neutrality is UGHHHH

basically for all yall who don't know (this is just what i gathered from today and discussion with other peeps):

the US congress is voting on to perhaps repeal net neutrality which is the statement that says that internet is available for all and everyone at fair speeds and at fair prices

here is the wikipedia definition:

"Net neutrality is the principle that Internet service providers must treat all data on the Internet the same, and not discriminate or charge differently by user, content, website, platform, application, type of attached equipment, or method of communication. For instance, under these principles, internet service providers are unable to intentionally block, slow down or charge money for specific websites and online content."

and here is the one from dictionary.com

"the concept that broadband Internet service providers should provide nondiscriminatory access to Internet content, platforms, etc., and should not manipulate the transfer of data regardless of its source or destination"

so yeah, it's a very good thing

however

internet companies now want to repeal net neutrality because they want to charge more for internet AND if it is repealed, then they can change the speeds and basically restrict or promote any website they want

so say for example: they slow down netflix but make hulu faster

the logic is that hulu will prob become more popular

so yep

ahahhahhahah

if it does get repealed thennnnnnnn i probably can't be on wattpad anymore wHICH SUCKS

a lot of people will probably leave wattpad and other social media stuff which makes this all so stupid and ugh omg

well anyways
