I'll Wait for You
Standing here just inches from you,
Staring into your steel blue eyes,
Watching your worried gaze,
As you trace the path of the tears down my face.
I turn my body into you,
Trying to remember the way you feel,
Possibly kissing your lips for the last time,
That knowledge causes my heart to cry.
I swallow back the pain,
My plan was to stand strong,
Watching you walk away,
My dreams shattered before my eyes.
I’ve dreamt so many dreams,
Cradle in your arms each night,
Unable to handle your absence,
I feel helpless inside.
I’m so scared that I you could be wrong,
That you’re leaving now will mean forever,
I swallow back the fear you’ll never be mine,
As I will wait for you,
Until the end of time….
