Naida's POV

I trembled as my dad said those words, expecting some reaction from Hayden.

His eyes widened and he went to stare at me, realizing my status in the wolf race.

"You are the Princess." he simply said in my mind, making me jump a bit.

"Yes..."

"And your mom is the whole-blooded she wolf." I nodded and went still.

"How did you know about whole blood?" He frowned.

"My father."

Well, that kind of made sense.

A feeling of uneasiness got to me and made me shake with desperation. I wanted my mate.

"I'm telling them, I can't do this anymore." I whimpered, making him stare at me with worry, he scanned my body, probably searching for hidden injuries.

I ran to him, ignoring my parents' calls.

He opened his arms and engulfed me in a bear hug, well, more like a wolf hug, my arms snaking around his neck, bringing him closer to me. He began burying his head in my neck, taking in my scent and caressing my hair with one hand as the other held me in place by my waist.

"Ced... don't." I heard some shuffling, a soft slap and a small grunt.

Hayden tensed up and pushed me behind him with a low growl.

I rolled my eyes and stepped to his side, looking at my parents and Shawn, who had been silent since this started.

"Mom, dad. Hayden is my mate."

"A bit obvious, thanks." I rolled my eyes and chuckled at Shawn.

"Don't tell me you never were like this with Aunt Viane." I poked my tongue out at him when he laughed at my comment.

"We were much worse, isn't that so? Cedric and Kaylie here are witnesses of such thing."

I grunted and scoffed, just as my parents whined in annoyance and turned to look at him accusingly.

"You still are." I coughed up, laughing at his offended expression.

He scoffed and left the scene pretending to be some kind of drama queen.

The place fell silent and I looked between my parents and Hayden, who were staring at me, amused.

"What is it with people staring these days??!" I scoffed as I threw my hands in the air.

"You have a lot of explaining to do, young miss. You don't even present your mate to us properly!" my dad went from being serious to joking around. Weird.

I looked at my mom, the question written on my face of course. She smiled at me like I was her partner in crime and I couldn't do anything but chuckle.

Ahh, male mates always softened with their mate if they asked them to. And I knew the kind of effect that my mother had on my dad.

Hayden reached to shake my dad's hand.

"My name is Hayden Somelson, I came with the humans, but I'd prefer if we told you everything somewhere more, eh, you know, private." Hayden whispered to them as I linked my fingers with Hayden's and walked with my parents.

They widened their eyes in surprise, remembering the letter and every event that had taken place recently.

"Wait... What? Humans? You are Captain Somelson?" My dad asked, surprise evident in his tone.

We both nodded solemnly and that seemed to ease my dad a bit.

"We will explain everything at the castle." I told them in a hush as we walked throught the forest and into the open grounds of the castle.

I looked around, watching as a lot of wolves cleaned up the mess of the battle. There were some new minds in the link, I sensed them. Probably surrendered rogues.

I shivered as I got a few stares from some of the new males I didn't recognize.

Hayden seemed to realized this too and let out a low growl, putting an arm around my waist and pressing me to him. I enjoyed the sensation of it though, I wasn't bothered with being this close to him. In fact, my wolf was having a pretty good time in my mind. Dirty wolves.

We kept on moving behind my parents, some guards joining us in the process, not daring to ask a question about the person that had me under his hold as if I was the most precious thing.

"I missed you." His lips touched my hair.

"I missed you too."

"I'm glad you told them, I couldn't stand another minute without having you by my side."

I gave him a wide smile as I reached to press my lips to his neck. Geez was he tall. I now understood why my mom pouted everytime she couldn't reach my dad's lips. Ugh, no, gross!

"Oh, hey, before anything else happens, you aren't the only one telling my parents important stuff. There is also some stuff about me and the Earth's wolves that you must know."

He nodded.

I hadn't realized we were already making our way upstairs, to the safe room in which I was locked earlier during the battle.

I bit on my lip nervously as we sat down, my dad pulling my mom closer to him.

Damn these over protective mates. I thought as Hayden did the same to me.

Everyone chuckled and looked at me funny.

"Now what? Have I grown another head?" I asked, pouting slightly. Now what have I done?

"Damn these over protective mates." My dad mimicked my thoughts and my eyes widened as a deep blush crept on my face.

I groaned as I hid my face in Hayden's chest.

This was going to be a long night.
