She loved animals.
Her animals practically took over.
Her home.

She stroked her cat's fur.
Slowly and tenderly.
Lovingly.

While nuzzling close.
To her rabbit.
And sighing happily.

And I envied the attention she gave.
I envied animals.
My jealousy was getting ridiculous.

I sounded ridiculous.

When she left them.
To examine her fish tank with me.
I continued to stare the the two fish.

Swimming around.

"One day I will
Fight your bunny for
Your attention."

"He's pretty vicious.
I wouldn't want you to die."
She teased.

I wondered if the two fish.
Were happy together in there.
Alone.

Or if they couldn't stand.
Each other.
And hated it.

"They've been acting strange
Lately."
She said smiling.

"Strange how?"

"Strange like,
I think they're
Procreating."

I must have made a weird face.
Because she laughed her obnoxious laugh.
And left to go feed her pets.

Shaking her head.

I turned back to the fish.
They had no one to bother them.
Nothing else to worry about.

But enjoy each others company.

I have never wanted to be.
Trapped in a tank.
So much in my life.
