The next day.

I was engrossed in videogames.

And of course she got involved.

She grabbed a controller.

And settled back against me.

Demanding a 1 vs. 1.

I couldn't.

Kill her.

In real life.

How could I.

Kill her.

In a game?

I brushed away the thought.

For it was preposterous.

Who was I to say no?

Playing games.

With her.

Was always intriguing.

She triumphantly cheered.

When I agreed.

"Game on."

I roamed the corridors.

Cautiously.

Half expecting her to fly out of nowhere.

Her closeness was distracting me.

The smell of her hair.

The curve of her neck.

"Are you getting nervous?"

She asked mockingly.

Like she could sense my nerves.

"You should be the nervous one.

Cause I'm getting closer."

I hid it as best I could.

"Don't cry when you lose."

She laughed at me.

I scoffed at her ability to be irritating.

It seemed.

I was going in circles.

Until.

"Aha! I got you!"

She cried.

Before I could react.

I watched myself get shot.

Straight through the heart.

Game over.
