The Power Bond

Chapter Seven|| Shock

{Madeline's POV}

I stared at the mirror in shock. The mark was already healed, and the bite was a beautiful marking. It all didn't seem real. My mind drifted back to the moment his teeth sunk into my neck just moments ago. 

I let out a scream as I felt his teeth sink into my neck, claiming me. His arms were around my waist tightly and tears brimmed my eyes. In moments the pain turned to pleasure and I knew the bite was complete. Slowly he pulled back his tongue swiping over it and I bit back a moan. 

"It's done." He said near my ear and all the pain of heat felt washed away... for now. 

My hand trembled as I brought it up to my neck running it over the bite. Everything seemed to shift. My sense of smell felt stronger, my eye sight was sharper, and I felt energy surge through me. 

'It all comes with that bite, you have the senses of an alpha.' Ryker's voice drifted through my mind startling me. 

"Wow." Was all I could manage and I heard Ryker let out a laugh. 

"How about we get out of this tub, yeah?" I nodded—the towel still around me— and stood with him as he helped me out. 

"You can get ready yourself?" I nodded and he walked out of the bathroom shutting the door behind him. 

I walked over to the counter grabbing the clothes I had laid out before I took a shower and quickly changed. I was wearing Ryker's shirt from one of the first nights I was here. 

Which by the counter is where I was still standing. I was brought from my thoughts when I heard Ryker's voice. 

"Are you regretting it?" He asked almost sounding hurt. 

I looked up noticing he was behind me. I looked back at the mark through the mirror and trailed my finger across it. 

"No...Im actually not." I smiled, I felt happy? It was an odd feeling. 

"Good, because I'm not." He said walking in front of me and wrapping his arms around me. Now that he marked me, we were going to feel closer than ever. 

"It looks great on you." He smirked and I rolled my eyes playfully pushing him away. 

"What now?" I asked more seriously and he sighed thinking about it. 

"Now I introduce you as my mate and luna to the pack. Then you'll join." I couldn't help but smile thinking about it. 

"Ill be your equal." I grinned up at him and he smirked. 

"You will be, and I will make sure everyone knows that." He winked placing a kiss on my forehead. 

"Come, you need sleep, gattina. Your heat may start back up." He said ushering me towards the door. 

"What does gattina mean?" I asked curiously. 

"Kitten."

The next morning I woke up with strong arms wrapped around my waist. I was pressed to Ryker's chest as he slept peacefully. I glanced up at him and trailed my finger down his cheek. 

He was like a god. Everything about him was perfect. His eyes made a flutter movement and I pulled my hand away. 

"Good morning." He said in a raspy voice and I smiled. 

"Good morning." I grinned up at him. 

"What time is it?" he asked rubbing his eyes. 

"Around ten." His eyes snapped open quickly and he sat up. 

"Shit." he mumbled getting out of bed. 

"What's wrong?" He quickly went into his closet and I heard shuffling. 

"I have a meeting at ten thirty and nothing is laid out, nor is any of it ready to be presented." He said. 

"Let me help you then." I said. 

"No it's fine, go get breakfast or something." His frantic hurrying made me curious. 

"Who is this meeting with?" I asked and he sighed. 

"No one important." Squinting my eyes, he looked at me and laughed. 

"I promise, his name is Oliver... I'm checking him out for Christian." 

"What? Why Christian?" 

"There are some things I can't explain right now, but in time I promise you'll know." With that he walked over pressing a kiss to my forehead and scurried off. 

"The hell?"

"Yes Mckenzie, I'm fine. Ill talk to you later." I smiled at my crazy best friend and ended the call walking down the stairs. 

"Ah there you are." I heard a voice say once I reached the bottom floor and looked over confused. 

Ryker's beta walked up to me with a huge smile on her face. 

"I just had to meet you. This is exciting." She nearly squealed. 

"Uh.. thank you?" She let out a laugh and looped her arm with mine and started walking. 

"You see... Ryker settling down is a very very shocking thing and the whole pack is in a frenzy." She said and my eyes widened. 

"Whole pack?! They already know?" She laughed. 

"Well duh, the day you showed up with him here everyone kinda knew." Oh... 

"I uh, didn't get to thank you for coming in last night when you did. That could have ended badly." I said and she just shrugged. 

"Ryker is a brother to me... I was glad to help, and in a way you'll be like a sister to me, Im Alessia." I grinned at her. 

"Madeline, and I'd love that... I need some gal pals around here." 

"Oh! Can I call you Maddie?" She asked and I laughed. 

"Sure." We soon walked into the kitchen and she let go of my arm and walked to the fridge. 

"How does breakfast and then a run sound?" I nodded. 

"Sounds great."

This chapter was a sucky filler, I know but I wanted to give you something since i've been slacking. I have work early tomorrow and have to sleep :(

AOTD: ME HOLY SHIT I LOVE HIM... literally my friends think they're sneaky but their not and they've been messaging him like crazy to come and surprise me at my bday and he obviously isn't going to do that so I'm not getting my hopes up, but it makes me happy my friends care so much :') I heart them v much. 

i FINALLY fixed the plot for this book to my liking so we are BaCk On TrAcK ;)
