I know what you're thinking..
How the hell does a man who's half monster raise a family?
It's not easy, I'll tell you that. But then again-being a father never will be a so called 'easy' task.
Believe it or not, the hardest part isn't watching your kids grow up and learn everything about the world. It's the part where you must choose to let them go and explore it for themselves.
As a father, you want to protect them with all of your life, but when they leave, and go off on their own, you can't protect them anymore.
Days go by, and already you miss them. You realize only on certain holidays will they possibly ever care to see you again. You're left with the memories you shared together..
The first day you every layer eyes on them..
Every birthday..
Every smile..
Every nap..
Imagining life without them is..impossible.
They grow up faster than you can handle..until one day you realize what little time you have left..
but by then..they've already left..
You've realized they're all grown up..and starting a life without you.
Someday they'll find someone else they truly love..
and maybe..just maybe..discover what it truly means to love something unconditionally..and want to protect them at all costs.
Because that's all you've ever wanted for them-the best.
All you've ever wanted is for them to be happy, and nothing else.
~ Dedicated to my children; Adeline, Kit, Fleur, Legend, and in memory of my son Elliot.
Happy Father's Day Everyone
