PRESENT

"Mrs. Dun, do you still have Josh's ashes or was he buried? I'm sorry to bother you."

"He was buried, Dallon. Oh, it's been such a long time; it's not a bother. How've you been?"

"I've been great; how about yourself? You're still in great shape."

"Aw, thank you, darling!"

"What cemetery was he buried in?"

"Ohio State Cemetery. Is Tyler fine?"

"Not so much."

"Oh, he and Joshua were always so close."

"How do you go on? You know, with knowing your son is dead? How can you bear so much pain. You're so brave for that." Dallon couldn't help his curiosity and ask.

She sucked in a breath and hesitated before saying,

"The pain goes away and you're faced with reality, but it's okay because you know it's real and don't have to pretend anything is a dream, a nightmare. I miss him, he's my little boy, but he decided to leave... I-I'm sorry. Say hello to Tyler for me, please?"

He nodded and walked down the driveway.

His friend chose to die.

He wouldn't be surprised if Tyler thought about going with him.
