Chapter 24

Once Andy left I went inside and started cleaning up while mum bathed Chloe. It was the least I could do she already does so much for Chloe and me. I was completely day dreaming of the kiss before Andy left when mum walked back into the kitchen with Chloe on her hip and dressed in her pyjamas ready for bed.

“I think this little one is ready for bed” said mum as she passed Chloe to me after I wiped my hands on the tea towel.

Balancing Chloe on my hip I grabbed a bottle out of the sterilizer and put boiled water in and added the formula I gave it a good shake and put it in the bottle warmer.

Once it was done I grabbed the bottle, took Chloe into the lounge room to kiss my mum good night and carried her up to bed. I switched on her night light and placed her in the cot before giving her I big good night kiss, I gave her the bottle and she quickly put it in her mouth and started sucking “I love you pretty girl” I said before switching off the big light and closing the door over but leaving it slightly ajar.

I went straight into my room and made sure the baby monitor was turned on. Once satisfied I picked it up and went into the bathroom to take a shower and get myself ready for bed. Today was not how I pictured it would turn out. I never thought I’d be face to face with Aimee let alone hit her. I turned on the shower and let the bathroom fill with steam before taking off my clothes and stepping into the hot spray of water.

Once washed I turned the water off and stepped out of the shower to dry myself and get dressed. I finally climbed into bed and sleep soon took over.

I woke early to the sound of Chloe playing in her cot. I climbed out of bed and made my way to her room and there she was sitting down playing with her teddy and doll.

“Good morning pretty girl” I said as I walked further into her room and lent against the cot rail.

“Mummy” she said her little sing song voice.

I looked at my daughter and thought to myself ‘how lucky I was to have her even being so young’

“I wouldn’t change a thing that I’ve done pretty girl, I’m glad you’re here I couldn’t imagine my life without you in it” I said to her. I know she can’t understand me but still I need her to know I didn’t regret having her.

The morning past quick before I knew It I was walking through the front gates at school. Mum was home to babysit Chloe this morning so I didn’t have to get mum to drop her off at day-care.

I spotted Andy walking towards me with a huge grin on his face, we reached each other at exactly the same time although I think he was walking a little faster than I was.

“Good morning” he said with a smile on his face.

“Good morning to you to, what has you looking so happy this morning?” I questioned.

“Just seeing your pretty smile” he replied.

I didn’t say anything in return but I blushed, he said the sweetest things at times. We walked towards the main entrance at school side by side.

“How was Chloe this morning” he asked me.

“She’s good she’s at home with my mum today she had the day off” I answered in return.

“That’s good, I was hoping I could take the two of you out again sometime soon” he didn’t look at me as he spoke. I was a little shocked; I still don’t understand why he wants to hang out with me and Chloe. He could choose anyone of these girls at school.

“Stop frowning, its ok if you don’t want to I understand” he spoke as though I was shutting him down.

“No that’s not it, I was just thinking. Why me? I’m young I have a daughter who is the most precious thing to me? Why would you want to waste your time with me and my daughter” I questioned.
