Haven't horror story characters heard of... horror stories?
Example: "Blood that says 'go away'." I looked around."Better chances that we split up to cover more ground." The others nodded.
Why This Is Annoying: I would've reacted differently...
"Blood that's say 'go away'. ALL ABOARD THE NOPE TRAIN! NEXT STOP FUCKTHATVILLE!" I ran out of there and moved to Ireland.
How To Fix This: Well, the only way for a story to progress as if the book has stupid people who decide to go in opposite directions. But please make it a little more non-cliche. Like they always lived in the house and the MC little child is friend with one of MC old friends that died. Or something like that.
