Common Genetics: Height

I'm thinking this will be the final in this series, but if you think there's more things about character appearances I could elaborate on, then please comment them below or DM me about it.

In general, doctors estimate someone's height by the middle of the two parents' heights, this theory is generally done with males.

So, if you want a male character that's 5'6", his parents should be something like this:
Mom: 5'2"
Dad: 5'10"

Females go by the theory of being close to either their paternal or maternal grandmother's height. Us chicks get stuck with generation leaps in height generally.

So here's a female example. You want a girl who's 5'3"
Dad's mom: 5'5"
Mom's mom: 5'2"

Although generally, it does lean more towards your dad's side if you're a chick.

And if you have a male character, don't expect him to be basketball height (6'3"+) if his family in general is short. This is just simple stuff to keep in mind when making your male leads super tall.

Other than that, there isn't much about height rules, just keep note that super tall people will be rare in short families while short people appear more often.

I hope this helped!
