Eliza.

Angelica dazzles around the room like a drunk swan.

I roll my eyes and stand in the corner.

So far this party is really lame.

Until he walks in.

I swear my heart goes, "BOOM!"

The boy from the hallway.

I don't really know much about him.

I know he moved here from some forgotten spot in the Caribbean.

His skin is tan, his hair is a deep brown and tied in a bun, and oh, those eyes.

Angelica's right.

I really am helpless.

He sees me.

I feel my face burn.

He smiles.

The eyes stare directly into mine.

I don't want him to look away, but the slightly taller, curly haired, boy pulls him away.

He's one of those boys that run into garbage cans.

About an hour later, I'm trying to catch his eye again. The mysterious boy is no where to be see.  I frown.

The corners of my mouth form a smile when I see him speaking to Angelica.

I run up behind her.

She chuckles.

"Oh! Hey Lizzy!"

I smile awkwardly as the boy looks at Angelica.

"Elizabeth Schuyler. It's a pleasure to meet you."

I hold out my hand.

A little formal, but he looks like the kind that won't mind.

He smiles and shakes my hand.

"Alexander Hamilton."

I smiled.

"Charmed."

That sounded dumb Eliza.

Why would you say that?

I guess I'll never be satisfied.
