"We know where they took her." Fang's calm words fell like stones. He scraped the bottom of the can with his fork.

"Where's that?" I asked, raising my head, my blind eyes bloodshot with unshed tears.

i can't think of why they would take her, oh god...my poor Kassidy. i will kill them, with no mercy at all.

"The School," Fang and Max said at the same time.

kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

Iggy's POV

Nudge gasped, i could smell salty water...tears. my spine tightened, my face like ice. When i was at the school, they were the reason i was blind, trying to "enhance" me and all.

"They took Angel back to the School?" the Gasman asked, confused.

"I think so," Max said, trying to sound together and lead-erly.

"Why? After four years, I thought maybe they had forgotten-" Nudge said.

"They want us back," said Fang.

We'd never really talked about this. It was like, out of sight, out of mind. Actually, more like, let's all try to forget when we were at the mercy of sadistic spawns of Satan in a place that's a total, hellish abomination and ought to be firebombed. Yeah, more like that. i gently hugged Nudge to my side as she sniffled.

"They'll never forget about us. Jeb wasn't supposed to take us out of there," Max said.

"Jeb knew they would do anything to get us back. If anyone ever discovered what they did to us, it would be the end of the School," Fang explained.

"Why don't we tell on them, then? We could go to a TV station and tell everyone and say, Look, they grew wings on us, and we're just little kids, and-" Nudge said and i quickly stopped her.

"Okay, that would fix them, But we'd end up in a zoo." i said frowning.

"Well, what are we gonna do, then?" The Gasman was starting to sound panicky.

Fang had gotten up from his and i hear his foot steps leave, making me frown. i gently grab the table, listening for his foot steps. he came back, but i also heard paper crinkling...and something being swept off of it.

"Eew," said Nudge, wiping her nose on her sleeve. "Eew. Was that-"

"Here," said Fang.

i sat down and hear pieces of paper being set on the table and i frown, gently feeling on them, they were typed, so i couldn't really trace the letters. they were old, wore out edges and rips.

"What is that?" asked the Gasman.

"Map," Fang said.

Map? what kind of map did he have? i don't see how a map would exactly help us right now.

"Map of what?" Nudge leaned closer, peering over Fang's shoulder.

"Map of a secret facility," Max said,

i felt my stomach clench. I'd hoped I'd never have to hear about it again, i really didn't.

"In California. The School" Max said quietly.

"Whaaat?" the Gasman squeaked.

I went even paler than normal, if possible. so that's where we were? no island? no secret base, in California? you have to be kidding me. of course, why not?

"That's where they took Angel, And that's where we have to go to get her back." Max said.

"Oh, Yeah. We have to go get Angel and Kassi back. We can't let them stay there-with them. They're-monsters. They're going to do bad things to them. And put them in a cage. Hurt them. But there's five of us. So the rest of us have to go get hmph- " Nudge said, and kept rambling like crazy.

I had wrapped my hand across her mouth. She peeled my fingers apart. "Uh, how far is it?"

"Six hundred miles, more or less, At least a seven-hour flight, not including breaks." Fang said.

"Can we discuss this? We're way outnumbered." i said looking at the ceiling.

"No." Max said.

God, i hated when Max got all in charge. she wasn't thinking about number, the risk, what if it would hurt us or them even more.

"Can we take a vote? They had guns. And a chopper." i said with frown.

"Iggy. This is not a democracy, It's a Maxocracy. You know we have to go after Angel and Kassidy. You can't be thinking that we would just let them take her. The six of us look out for one another-no matter what. None of us is ever going to live in a cage again, not while I'm alive." Max said and i took a deep breath.

"But actually, Nudge, Fang, and I are going after Angel. You and the Gasman-I need you to stay here. Hold down the fort. On the off chance Angel escapes and makes her way home." Max said.

There was a moment of dead silence. Hell no.

"You are so full of it, That's not why you want us here. Why don't you just say it?" i snapped, turning towards her.

"Okay, It's true. I don't want you to come. The fact is, you're blind, and while you're a great flyer around here where you know everything, I can't be worrying about you in the middle of a firefight with the Erasers." Max said.

It's always the blindness isn't it? i can't believe her right now, i really can't. i should tell her what's really down.

"What about me? I don't care if they have guns and a chopper and Erasers. She's my sister." Gazzy said frowning.

If she let's him go before me, i will be furious.

"That's right. And if they want Angel so bad, they might want you just as bad, Plus, you're a great flyer, but you're eight years old, and we're going to be logging major hours." Max said.

"Jeb would never have made us stay, Never. Ever." i snapped.

i know that was a low blow, everyone knew it, but it had to be said, because i knew they agreed with me, even if they were going to agree.

"Maybe not, We'll never know. Jeb's dead. Now everyone get your gear together." Max said frowning.
