Chapter 3 ~ Wouldn't want it any other way

Genesis P.O.V

I walked into the kitchen to find my mom cooking breakfast. I smiled slightly walking over to her and kissing her on the cheek

"Morning" I said with a smile. She glanced at me and smiled

"You seem to be happier lately" She said raising an eyebrow. I shrugged taking a seat on the counter and grabbing an apple from the fruit basket in front of me. 

"I guess" I said with a small smile. She giggled

"Alright who is the guy?" She said turning around and crossing her arms over her chest. My eyes widened

"W-What?!" I said nearly choking on the apple I had just bitten into. She shook her head smiling at me

"I know that look Gen...I wasn't born yesterday ya know" She said with a smirk. "Besides...ever since your birthday party you've been prancing around the house singing and smiling non stop" She said with a nod. "That can only mean one thing...somebody's in love!!!" She sang

"ugh mom!" I groaned rolling my eyes. She giggled

"It's okay if it's a guy Gen..there's nothing wrong with that" She said walking over to me and rubbing my back soothingly. I rolled my eyes

"Mom just cause I'm happy, doesn't mean it has something to do with a guy" I said rolling my eyes. I would have honestly told my mom the truth...told her that the reason I'm so happy is because of Dana...but for the sake of the band and all of us keeping our jobs, I can't say anything...no matter how much I wanna tell my mom...

"You sure about that honey?" She asked making me look up at her

"I'm sure mom!" I said with a nod, hoping she would believe me. "I'm just really excited for Hawaii is all..." I said smiling. She stared at me for a moment before smiling at me. 

"Alright hun...but if it is because of a guy you would tell me...right?" She asked raising an eyebrow. I giggled

"Of course mom" I said with a nod. She smiled walking back over to the stove. I sighed in relief. Thank goodness she believed me. 

"So you want one pancake or two?" She asked glancing back at me. I stood up shaking my head

"Uh no thanks...Dana's actually picking me up...we're having breakfast and then we're heading to the mall to get some more stuff for the trip" I said smiling. My mom smirked at me

"Alright dear" she said with a smile. I heard a car honk outside. 

"That's Dana...I'll be back later!" I said running over to her and kissing her on the cheek before heading towards the front door. 

"Have fun hun! Tell Dana I said hi!" My mom called after me. "Oh and Genesis!" She added. I turned around to find her leaning on the door way

"Don't worry...Your secrets safe with me" She said calmly. My eyes widened and she giggled. "Go on...don't wanna keep your boyfriend waiting" She said with a nod. 

"H-how did yo-" She cut me off

"Mother's intuition" She said plainly. I shook my head smiling slightly. "Besides...I kinda had a feeling you two would end up together one way or another...especially when I saw how you reacted when you first met" She said with a wink. I shook my head giggling slightly. I ran up to my mom and wrapped my arms around her. 

"Thanks mom" I mumbled. I could feel her laughing slightly. I pulled away staring up at her

"Have fun" She said with a wink. I giggled hugging her one last time before heading towards Dana's car. I opened the passenger door and slid in closing the door behind me. 

"Hey beautiful" He said with a smile. I blushed

"Hey handsome" I said leaning over and kissing him gently. He pulled away with wide eyes

"Gen your mom is right there" He said staring back at my mom who was leaning against the doorway. I giggled

"Don't worry...she's good at keeping secrets" I said with a nod. He raised an eyebrow

"you told her?" He said surprised. I giggled

"She kinda found out on her own" I shrugged. He shook his head interlocking our hands before driving off.

I stepped out of the fitting room to find Dana staring down on his phone. Probably on twitter. I cleared my throat making him look up at me. His eyes widened and his phone slid out of his hands landing on his lap. I bit my lip looking down.

"I look dumb" I mumbled shaking my head. 

"Genesis" Dana said plainly. I looked up at him

Dana P.O.V

"I look dumb" Genesis said looking down. She wore a floral dress that ended at her mid-thigh. Why is it so hard for her to see how beautiful she really is?! I wish she could just see herself from my point of view...then maybe she would understand why I get so mad every time she says something bad about the way she looks. 

"Genesis" I said standing up. She looked up at me. I smiled slightly walking over to her. I stood behind her wrapping my arms around her waist and turning her to face the mirror. I rested my head on her shoulder staring at her reflection in the mirror. 

"Take a good look at yourself" I said interlacing our hands together. She groaned

"Dana I do-" I cut her off

"No 'if' 'ands' or 'buts' " I said with a nod. She sighed shaking her head. "Take a good look at yourself and tell me what you see" I said staring at her reflection intently. She was silent for a moment before sighing

"I see....an insecure...broken girl who wasn't, or will ever be good enough..." She said looking down. My heart broke. Did she really think of herself like that?! I noticed she had her eyes shut tightly. 

"Well you know what I see?" I choked out. She looked up and I noticed her eyes were glossy. " I see, a beautiful, amazing girl who has me head over heels for her..." I said truthfully. I turned her around so she was facing me. 

"You know what else I see?" I said grabbing her cheeks gently to make her look up at me. She stared into my eyes. 

"I see the first girl I have ever loved" I said with a nod. "I see my first love...and frankly" I said eyeing her up and down. "I wouldn't want it any other way" I said smiling. Her cheeks turned red slightly. I smiled leaning down to kiss her. 

"You're beautiful just the way you are...don't you ever think any less of yourself. You're beautiful and that's that" I said biting my lip. She giggled

"Dana Vaughns...how did I ever get so lucky to have you in my life" She said shaking her head. I chuckled

"The same way I was lucky enough to have YOU in my life" I said biting my lip. She giggled

"Cheesy" She mumbled before standing on her tippy-toes and kissing me.

I really am the luckiest guy in the whole world...!
