Isaac and Y/N.

The best of friends. For as long as either of them could remember, they'd been joined at the hip. They told each other everything. Y/N was the person he turned to when his mother and brother passed away. She was the only one to know about the abuse Isaac had suffered from his father for so many years.

One might wonder why she never took action to stop the terrible man or get Isaac out of that place, but she couldn't. Trust me, she wanted to, but Isaac would be alone if he left, no family left to care for him. Being left behind is worse than the abuse he suffered. Y/N didn't quite understand. She thought they were family; or at least close enough for him to not be left alone, however, she respected his wishes anyway.

Isaac had no other friends than Y/N. She was the girl that had many friends, Lydia Martin and Allison being her best girlfriends, but always stuck to Isaac because she cared for him more than anything. Y/N was the first to know of Isaac becoming a werewolf. They'd gone through a rough patch during the time they dealt with the kanima. Y/N being friends with Allison and Lydia joined the McCall pack while Isaac was in the Hale pack. This caused many problems in their now conflicted relationship, but they got through it like they did everything; together.

Now that the two packs no longer had conflict with each other, they all worked together. Over the summer, a lot had happened. Isaac stayed with Derek and Peter most of the time, not seeing much of Y/N. As much as it hurt to admit, Y/N could feel their once strong and unbreakable bond fading away. It hurt even much that she had unrequited love towards the curly haired boy.

In recent events, an alpha pack and a darach had begun to sweep through Beacon Hills. To this pack of alphas we'd lost Erica and Boyd. Y/N and Isaac's relationship was almost nonexistent at this point. Allison and Lydia would tell Y/N to try and talk to him, but she refused. He left her by herself dealing with the aftermath of getting into the supernatural. It hurt so much because Isaac didn't even say goodbye.

"Come on, Y/N." Lydia sighed, leaning against her locker. "It's just Isaac. You two are best friends."

Y/N raised an eyebrow. "Correction. We were best friends. Isaac didn't make any effort to speak to me this summer. He didn't even answer my text messages, let alone phone calls."

"I know, but you can just let your friendship fade away. You guys are special, you have a bond like no other." Lydia sighed, a soft smile on her face.

"And you have feelings for him. He should know that." Allison chimed in.

I looked down to her black slip-ons. "That doesn't mean anything anymore. He doesn't feel the same way, so why should that be the first thing I say to him in over 4 months?" Y/N sighed.

"Because you love him." Allison suddenly said. Y/N's head shot up. She never once told Lydia or Allison that she was in love with him, but they knew of the 'small' crush she had on him and how much she missed his company.

"I-I don't love him." Y/N stuttered unconvincingly. She was never the best liar.

"Yeah, you do. We all see it, Y/N. You need to tell him and if he doesn't feel the same, maybe you could move on." Her strawberry blonde friend told her.

"What time are we all meeting at the hospital tonight?" Y/N tried changing the subject. She looked into her locker grabbing a few textbooks.

"Don't try and change the subject, Y/N." Allison warned with empty threats.

"He seems to have gotten over any friendship he had with me, why should I tell him about my feelings when we don't even talk?" When Lydia and Allison didn't respond, Y/N closed her locker and adjusted her backpack on her shoulder. "I'm not telling him and that's that." She finalized. Y/N shot a small smile toward her best friends and walked off.
