I awkwardly returned the hug, not really knowing what else to do. I mean he was my father and slowly I would have to learn to accept that.

Pulling away slightly I was stunned to see people gathering around. Just great, I wasn’t one for these parties or whatever social gatherings, especially when I wasn’t comfortable or yet knew any of these people.

“Um…” I look up at my dad. “Hi?” yes, and the awkward award goes to…drum role please…Me!

"Oh Alexandra, you don't know how much I missed you." Came his deep voice, and once again I was enveloped in a tight hug.

“Wow, she grown up into such a beautiful young woman.” I turned to look at where the voice had come from. Standing there was a beautiful woman. “She also looks just like your sister Rene, Cole."  The lady added. My dad nodded his head proudly while I just looked at them puzzled.

"Umm, who’s Rene?" Wow it felt weird saying my middle name out loud.

My father smiled down at me, he was a tall dude.

"Rene was your mother’s sister, your aunt. You were named after her.” He said.

"My mom has sisters?" I asked shocked, she had told me she was an only child.

"There are a couple of things you weren’t told concerning our family, Alexandra.” He said seriously. Suddenly his posture was stiffer, “By the way, how’s your Mother doing?”

"As good as a single mother can." I said remembering how every night she would cry when I was a child.

He nodded his head, quite taken aback by my rudeness but didn’t say anything.

"And she has the spunk of Rosie, quite the combination. Looks with a dash of attitude." the same woman in the crowd said a smirk on her lips.

"Rosie?" I questioned,

"Another of your aunts from your mother’s side." he replied.

“Wow, mom has some explaining to do.” I said angrily. How much had they kept hidden from me, I was now realizing my whole life was practically a lie!

“This is why your mother and I had an agreement to fly you out here a month before your eighteen birthday."

"Why a month before that?" I said arching an eyebrow.

"Patience Child." The lady from the crowd said. She was honestly stunning with her long black hair, tan complexion, slender body and beautiful vibrant green eyes.

"And you are?" I said a bit snappy, she was however getting on my nerves with all these interruptions.

"I'm Susan, you're trainer."

"Trainer?"I looked over at my dad. "Something you or my mother forgot to mention?"

"Alexandra come into my office." I followed suit and we soon arrived before these huge oak doors, I walked in and it was like entering Narnia, it was so awesome. Adorned with book shelves and obviously a ton of books, it had high ceilings and lots of hung portraits of people I didn't know but the most stunning portrait was the one hung behind my dad’s desk, it was a beautiful painting of a black wolf, it looked almost realistic.

"This is impressive." he smiled in appreciation of my liking.

"Sit," I gladly did. "Alexandra," he said very seriously. "There isn't an easy way to explain what I'm about to say so bare with me and always have in mind that I hardly joke and never lie." I looked at him seriously. "You're a very special girl, an I'm not just saying that because you’re my daughter.” He paused and looked at me intently before picking of where he left off.

“Alexandra, you're...actually we all are, me, your mother, the people out there. We are all ...Werewolf's."

Silence, that’s all there was. Was I even hearing right? Did he honestly just say we are werewolves? I burst into uncontrollable fits of laughter.

“Okay. Okay, I get it. You’re trying to break the ice with a joke.” I said smiling, but the serious expression on his face was a tad bit confusing.

Wait, was he serious? Was he fuken shitting me right now?

"We have Lycan blood running through us.” He said, an impassive look on his face. My eyes traveled back to the wolf portrait and back to my father. I stayed sitting in the same position, not moving a muscle. I hoped this was one of the rare times he liked to joke. I actually I was praying this was all a joke, a twisted weird joke, but a joke nonetheless.

After silence from both our parts I eventually managed to croak out a measly, “What?"

"Look, it would be better if you head up to sleep and we'll talk tomorrow." I quickly got up and bolted out of the office, if God was allowing me to escape such a ridiculous talk I would take it. However grudgingly I walked back into his office, on my quick way out I had forgotten to ask where exactly my room was.

"You were quick to leave." he said amused.

“Yea, well I kind of don’t know where my room is?” I said sheepishly, embarrassed that I had just quickly made a mad dash for the door a few minutes ago.

"I'll show you to your room." He said while laughing, well I was glad at least one of us found this situation amusing, maybe this was a joke. ‘Yes, I’m sure it was.’ My frantic heart calmed down a bit, I mean there was no such things as Werewolves.

We walked up to a room that seemed to be made specifically for me! It was perfect. It was colored in burgundy, had a big window leading to a balcony the bed was huge and very comfortable, there was a small working area set up with a laptop, along with that there was a huge built in bookshelf, with loads of books! There were two doors inside, hopefully one lead to an inside bathroom.

"Wow! This is…awesome."

"Like it?” he said fretfully.

"Like it? It's like my dream bedroom." he smiled down at me, he seemed to be happy with himself.

"Well I'll let you get some sleep, you have a big day tomorrow."

I jumped in bed, not bothering to put my PJ’s on or anything but I did strip my clothes of leaving me in my undies and singlet.

Just a few hours ago I had been talking to my mom and now I was doubting if I was human. Talk about stressful. However I wasn't freaking out, I guess shock hadn't set in just yet. I looked over at the digital clock beside me and it read 3:38. Wow. This had been a long day.

Just as I was falling asleep I heard a faint howl in the distance that for some reason sent my heart skyrocketing, but that was just my mind playing trick on me…or at least that what I pegged it as before I surely fell asleep.   _____________________________________________________________________________
