2 hours later

Zelena

We sit in stony silence, like we have been for the past two hours, waiting for Doctor Whale to come downstairs and give us news on how Regina's doing. As the minutes go by, my worry for my sister increases.

"Are you okay?" I ask Robin, trying to make conversation to cut out the deafening silence

"No, it's all my fault! How could I have not seen it was Maleficent the whole time? I knew there was something wrong with her, she wasn't acting like Marian, but I shoved it off like it was nothing because I was blinded by love and was so caught up in the belief that I had my wife back! Maybe if I'd have realised this before now and not been so stupid things would have been different and Regina wouldn't be injured! God she'll never forgive me for this!" he cries, pacing up and down the room now

"Robin, listen to me, this isn't your fault, we were all fooled by the charade, even Regina. She will forgive you because you she loves you so much, trust me, everything is going to be okay. Regina will probably only need rest to get better and then we'll find out what Maleficent wants and defeat her" I reassure him

"DON'T YOU KNOW HOW POWERFUL SHE IS? SHE KNOCKED REGINA TO THE FLOOR WITH SUCH FORCE SHE COULD HAVE BROKEN HER SPINE! OUR BABY COULD BE DEAD! SHE SOMEHOW CAME BACK FROM THE DEAD, THAT'S POWERFUL! WE CAN'T DEFEAT HER!" he yells

"Robin, please, we can and we will, okay? There is always a way to defeat someone powerful, they always have a weakness that leads to their undoing and we will find it, I promise, I want her gone as much as you do" I argue back

He's about to reply when we hear footsteps walking down the stairs, making the deafening silence return, fear and panic entering the atmosphere as Doctor whale approaches the room, a weak smile on his face.

"How is she?" I ask, concern growing for my sister

"She's okay, she has a bruised spine, and a few cuts and bruises on her head which can both be healed by rest but no serious damage has been done, I've prescribed her some painkillers that she will need to take with a glass of water to help with the pain. I gave her some just now and she's sleeping but it will wear off within an hour or two so she will need another dose when she wakes up" he explains, making us both breathe a sigh of relief

"And the baby?" Robin asks, his concern growing even further for his soulmate

"The baby is fine, perfectly healthy, I would like to book Regina in for an ultrasound for next week just to check on the baby but for now I don't believe she'll need my supervision however if you do notice anything that concerns you give me a call" he nods, both Robin and I breathing a sigh of relief

"Thank you doctor" I smile, holding the door open for him to leave

"Thank goodness" I mumble, a sigh of relief escaping from my lips

"I'll go and sit with her for a bit, make sure she's alright" he decides, heading up the stairs, leaving me alone

"Relieved are we my dear? Isn't it nice to have some good news in the house for once?" I hear a familiar voice giggle

I turn around to see Maleficent and I have to stop myself from throwing a fireball at her

"You've got some nerve to show up here after what you did to Regina! Why? Why do it when you knew she wasn't going to get seriously hurt, why not just kill her? Or harm the baby? I don't understand" I growl

"Oh my dear Zelena, do you ever learn? There was no reason for this, no, it wasn't a reason, well of course there was a reason, it was to pay her back for what she did to me, but no, there was more than that, much more than that. It was a warning, a warning that this will be only the beginning of her suffering, there is far worse things to come, and in the end I will have my prize and she will know the true pain that I felt" she cackles

"And your prize is? What are you planning to get out of all this apart from your own death?" I frown

"Why her baby of course!" she smiles before disappearing in a cloud of smoke
