~Hong Lei's POV~
His voice permeated my ears, he finally addressed me!
"Yun Xu, you are no longer ignoring me!" I exclaimed as his annoyed gaze, pierces through me.
"And…Consort Wan…What is your business with him?" I asked scanning her face.
"Previously Consort Ning and I were quite rude to him previously, and I came to personally apologize. Even though he is being punished..." She said flustered, her face almost turning as white as Yun Xu's robes.
"Who said he was punished! He's the man that saved my life! He's now my personal physician! Would a punished person truly live in this kind of environment?" I said infuriated that they would drag Yun Xu's name in the dirt as Consort Wan looked at Yun Xu's confused, "Who is creating these baseless rumors and gossip!?" I continued.
"I did. Hong Lei, it's so lonely here...Han Ling can't always be here...After all he has his "business" that I'm sure you would never permit me to accompany...”
"Of course! Which person in their right mind would send the person that they love to a brothel!"
"Oh my! But he said you're punishing him for him denying you something." Consort Wan exclaimed in shock.
"He committed an unforgivable crime...He denied the right for me to love him." I said as a plopped next to him, resting my head on his shoulder as my long arms snaked around his waist before he shook me off.
"I like woman." He said, while continuing to play before, I grabbed his chin, made him look me dead in the eyes and said "I may not kill you, but I will kill anyone touches you."
"Well it's too late." He said tearing his eyes forcibly away from mine.
"Consort Wan...You are dismissed," I waved her off, and just as Yun Xu was about to leave too, I grabbed him by the wrist  and forced him against a pole "what do you mean?"
"My wife...She's dead. Buried under an Apricot tree on the mountain." He said looking down.
"You were married?" I asked shocked .
"Yes. She came to me the same way you did. I found her under the same tree she was buried under. It's...Only fitting that she exits that way too. I found her with...No memories. I named her Xing Chun* She took care me despite my coldness and eccentric habits, never questioned me. She was the spring that ended my winter, sweet and gentle. She took care of me...Even taught me how to sew and cook." He said looking back at me and his eyes telling more meticulously.
"When did she...Pass, if you don't mind me asking."
"It's been around seventeen years since. I met her in my early twenties. She was around sixteen then. She died a couple years later of a disease that I could not cure.…Even till this day." He said, as we returned to his room and he poured us both a glass of lychee wine, as he immediately downed his.
"You're forty two...The same age as mother consort!" I exclaimed in shock.
"Yes, you brat. I can be your parent, and that certainly won't aid in your quest to bed me." He said as he removed my hands with the minimum amount of fingers as if tossing a dirty rag.
I pulled him closer and hugged him. It's hard to lose a loved one…But I can probably say that only because she's no longer competition.
I didn't think he was sober as he kept whispering and muttering to my collar bone area, despite being a renounced physician…he couldn't save her. And that's why he avoided unnecessary human contacts and dove deeply into his studies and became a hermit as we moved to sit on the bed.
Even though she was dead, I was jealous of her. Me, the Emperor…Jealous of a dead little girl who had a questionable background and amnesia. How silly, I the Emperor; above millions of people and beneath no one* am jealous of a dead nobody.

Sorry if it moves too fast~But just a little detail in a greater plan. Remember the tags
*Reason I named her Xing Chun, the Xing 杏 means apricot and Chun 春  means spring, but Xing is pronounced similarly to Xin 新 meaning new. Yun Xu's new spring.

*万人之上无人之下 Wan ren zhi shang Wu ren zhi Xia's, stating how powerful he is and his unrivaled social class., His position that he is above millions and no one is above him like a hierarchy.
