When Ratchet had finished his work, and finally settled down, it had been a fair few hours later. Optimus had been patient, going about the base, organizing and fixing anything that needed it, making use of the time given, and spending time with Lightswipe while Sky Rocket took a break from watching her. He was especially happy when Ratchet finally stepped away from the monitors and joined him. Now the three of them were relaxed in their berthroom, Optimus and Ratchet laying close while Lightswipe sat between them, giggling and playing and going about as a sparkling. She currently had Ratchet's servo, and was playing with his digits and opening and closing them, exploring every way they could move, while Ratchet and Optimus watched with amusement. However, when she attempted to nibble on one of his digits- "Ah, no Lightswipe," Ratchet withdrew his servo slightly, shaking his helm. "Let's not do that." Lightswipe stared at him with betrayed and stricken optics, distressed with the loss of her toy. "Oh, don't give me that look," Ratchet rolled his optics and chuckled, returning his servo into her possession so she could continue playing with it. "She has your optics, or rather, Orion's optics." He said to Optimus, who was watching with a smile. "She seems to take after your archivist side quite a bit."

"And how do you feel about that?" Optimus murmured curiously, his gaze shifting to Ratchet for a moment, before moving back to Light.

Ratchet looked at him. "I love it," he replied, kissing his mate's forehelm with a smile. "Those big, mischievous optics... I loved them." The Prime raised an optic ridge slightly. "Of course," Ratchet chuckled, "I love your optics without the mischievous look they had when you were an archivist. They remain big and beautiful." Optimus laid his helm on Ratchet's shoulder and smiled.

"Glad to hear."

Lightswipe crawled up to sit closer to them, still settled in between them. She sat there for a moment, before turning and tackling Optimus's chestplates, which 'caused' him to collapse onto his back in defeat. Ratchet watched with amusement as the femling squeaked in victory, as Optimus lay watching her, 'defeated'. "You got me, little one." He chuckled. Lightswipe squealed happily. "You'll be one great warrior when your older..."

And that, she did become. As she grew, the Autobots around her trained her, turned her into a fine fighter. She joined her comrades in the field- once she reached an acceptable age- and made her mark as an Autobot warrior, fighting to stop the war alongside her Sire. The many years that followed had ups and downs- Samuel turned his job over to an agent who was more fit to work with the Autobots, Agent Fowler. The sudden death of Cliffjumper hit them like a ton of bricks, and the addition of three human children brought a deep change that affected everyone. The years that followed that were shifty, between memorable moments and happiness with the humans, and sudden uprisings of the Decepticons. The near-death of Optimus, which resulted in a massive upgrade, and a change of bases, came along, and turned them through yet another adaptation. In the end, after Megatron's death at Bumblebee's hand, the revival of Cybertron and the victory of the war led to Optimus's unfortunate demise. His sacrifice resulted in the continuation of Cybertron, but the excruciatingly painful loss for Lightswipe and Ratchet. As the bond snapped, as Optimus's spark was no more, and the horrible pain hit Ratchet, the planet's new start began. They would fix Cybertron, and would restore life.

Without the Decepticons.
