Chapter 5

-The next day-

*Luke's P.O.V*

I'm still in shock from what Cassie told us last night.

I feel so bad for her, which is weird because I've never cared about a girl this much.

To get my mind off it I got off of Ashton's couch and went to go see what he was doing.

I find Ashton in his room talking to Cassie.

"Hey look who's up!" Cassie shouted with a smile.

"What are you doing here?" I said with a smirk.

"I asked Ashton to pick me up."

"Oh ok, hey Ash where's Michael and Calum?" I ask.

"They're in the kitchen, making breakfast." Ashton said.

"I'm gonna go check on them." Cassie told us.

I followed her out into the kitchen.

"Hi boys how's it going?" Cassie asked.

"Great, your pancakes are done!" Michael told her.

She took the plate, kissed Michael on the cheek and said "Thank you."

I got so mad over that kiss on the cheek, I think I was jealous.

Ashton joined us in the kitchen for breakfast.

"Hey Ash, what were you and Cassie talking about?" I asked him.

"It was nothing, she just wanted to thank me for being so nice to her, that's all." Ashton told me.

I sat down beside Cassie at the table where she finshed all her pancakes.

"What are we doing today?" Calum asks.

"Um my mom told me you guys are welcome to come over, do you guys wanna go to my house?" Cassie said.

We all agreed.

We head over to Cassie's place.

"Hi mom!"

Cassie rushed up to her mom who was at the table with tissues.

"Mom are you okay? What's going on?" she asked her mother worried.

"Your dad, he got out, he served his time, and someone told him where we are." Her mother explained.

Cassie's expression dropped to happy to horrified.

She hugged her mom and ran into her room.

"Um Mrs. McKinley, we know what happened and we're sorry, we'll help as much as we can." Ashton told Cassie's mom.

"Thanks boys, Cassie's room is just upstairs."

We all headed up to her room.

"Cassie, can you let us in?" Ashton asks.

All you can hear is her sobbing.

"Cassie." Michael said.

"My d-door doesn't have a l-lock, come in." she told us.

Cassie hid herself away in her closet.

"Cassie just come out, please." Calum said to her.

"No, I'm not coming out."

"It's just us, Ash, Mikey, Cal, and Lukey, we're not going to hurt you." Ashton said to comfort her.

She came out and I was sitting right infront of the closet door waiting for her.

Cassie attached herself to me almost instantly, she clung on to me. I rubbed her back to calm her down.

I looked at the boys and they looked scared themselves.

They didn't know what to do, either did I.
