*** Julian's Pov 

I've been up since morn' making the necessary preparations for Scarlett's big surprise. Last night had a big one for me and Scarlett, I confessed that I slept with Elana. If I want this relationship to work, I have to be honest with her. I don't want her to look at me like I disappointment, a liar moreover a possible regret. I don't want her to regret that she's my mate. I have to come clean and hope whatever the outcome is, I will still have her in my life.

But before I could do that, I have to ensure that I straighten things out with the members of the Ross's family. I know how family is a big thing for Scarlett so I wanted to ensure everything was good with them.

I was currently in the living room of the Ross's household sitting opposite from her parents..

"How can we trust that you won't hurt my daughter again Julian?" Mrs. Ross questioned me with a stern expression on her face. Her arms were folded across her chest.

"You have to trust me that nothing like that will ever happen again. I know you both are a bit skeptical about this but I'm serious this time."

"Trust?" Scarlett's mom voiced. "Trust takes years to build and seconds to vanish. My daughter trusted you to be the man that she wanted. Yes, we do agree that she's a bit head strong, she's been like that since she was a child. But it takes a strong man to love a strong woman. I don't want my baby and my grand baby to exhaust over you because you weren't man enough to stick around and deal with your problems."

"I take it that you know she's pregnant with your child, right?" Alpha Caine smoothly inserted.

"Yes Alpha, I do. I'm also aware of the fact that she almost loss it due to my absence. Don't you think I already feel guilty for that?" Now I feel like I was getting pissed. "My first heir almost died. Now I want a chance to make it right. And I'm not leaving until I make sure everything is simpatico with you and I. I never said I was a knight in shinning armour. I'm just a man that's been through some things and never had the opportunity to experience love before. Now I want to witness it, with her and only her."

"Listen Julian, I respect you as an Alpha." He said rubbing his chin. "But my daughter, means everything to me. She gives me hope on cloudy days. Her happiness is my happiness. I don't like it when she's not happy. It breaks my heart, and that makes me feel hopeless." He paused before he continued.

"You say you're serious, then I'm going to take your word for it Alpha."

"Caine--" He shushed his wife. She clamp her mouth shut.

"I don't trust you yet until I've seen the results. If she's happy then I'm satisfied. If she is in tears then you're a dead puppy. Am I clear?"

I nod my head. "Yes Alpha. Scarlett happiness is my top priority. And she will always be happy. I'm going to make certain of it." He wasn't going to intimidate me that easily so I challenged him. "The only way she would feel unhappy, is if she's not with me. And you can bet that she is definitely going to be happy with me."
