1: Slipping Away

~~~Leray POV~~~  

Lloyd and Lucy don't see Mother Spirit as she follows Lucy.  

I slip away but Lloyd's voice brings me back.  

Mother Spirit whispers to Lucy, and I think this is where Mother Spirit will take me to the Spirit Realm. I think.... But I don't know.  

I slip away again, but this time I am brought back by a tug at my shirt.  

Through blurry eyes I watch Lloyd tear away the bottom half of my dark green and silver leaf threaded ninja suit, bloody and cut from where the shadow mans sword ran through me.  

I slip away longer this time, almost leaving completely, but I come back.  

The cut runs across my waist from my right side and curving around my left and over my back a bit. I swear only a inch or two is what is still keeping me together.  

I slip away.  

Blood pools around me and I should be dead, but I'm not.  

I slip away.  

Lloyd looks at me...  

I slip away.

So much love in his eyes.  

I slip away.  

Pain. I should feel pain.  

I slip away.  

But I feel nothing.  

I slip away.  

Mother Spirit looks at me.  

I slip away.  

Ready. I'm ready for the Spirit Realm.  

I slip away.  

Mother Spirit whispers to Lucy.  

I slip away.  

Lucy presses her small, cool, blissfuly cool, hand to the cut.  

I slip away.  

She whispers words...  

I slip away.  

But I'm to far gone to hear them.  

I slip away.  

My skin knits together.  

I slip away.  

The worst of the wound closes.  

I slip away.  

But it's not enough.  

I slip away.  

Lucy takes her hand off the cut.  

I slip away.  

It's covered in my blood.  

I slip away.  

And Mother Spirit disappears.  

I slip away.  

And Lloyd, my Lloyd says, "Leray-"  

I slip away before I hear the rest.
