DIANA

I stood in front of the mirror, carefully inspecting myself. Nearly my whole room was trashed with outfits I'd tried on previously and discarded after deciding that either a) they weren't cute enough, b) they were too (insert adjective here), or c) they made me look fat. Tomorrow was my big date with Luke and, of course, I had to look perfect. So I decided I'd start planning ahead on what outfit I'd wear. However, this proved to actually be a difficult task as I noticed at least some sort of flaw with practically every outfit. By the twelfth outfit, I'd begun to think it was hopeless until I saw one last dress at the very back of my closet—the section I rarely ever touched.

I'd pulled it out, and realized it was one of the designer dresses my mom had bought for me but I never wore (more because there was nothing I could wear the dress to). After I'd received it, I'd stuffed it in the back of my closet, not even bothering to try it on, and pretty much forgot about it—at least until now.

Now I wore the dress in front of the mirror, and I couldn't help but wonder how the hell I hadn't taken any interest in it before, because, honestly, I looked pretty damn good in it. It was a deep cerulean color, and was sleeveless and went to about halfway down my thighs. It sort of wrapped around me, creating a v-neck that was just deep enough to be considered sexy but was high enough so that it wasn't trashy. Everything was loose and flowy, making it really comfortable, and there were loose frills on the outer edges of the dress, as well as across from it, giving it a girly but not too girly look. It was sexy, yet also classy and pretty. It was perfect.

Damn, Luke's so going to have a heart attack.

I couldn't help but smirk.

Finally content, I took the dress off and put it back on the hangar before hanging it on the front of my door. I looked around at my room again, seeing that it pretty much looked like a tornado ran through it. Yeah, it was hopeless. So I decided to save cleaning it for another day and put my shorts and tank top on before heading downstairs.
I'd just reached the bottom step when all of a sudden the doorbell rang.
Yes, pizza! I was starving.

So I made my way to the door, not bothering to check who was behind it since I never got any visitors unless I personally asked them to come over—which in this case would be the pizza guy. It took me a few seconds to unlock both locks, but as soon as I did, I swung the door open.

"Hi, you must be—"

I couldn't even finish my sentence when all of a sudden something—more like someone—knocked into me so fast, I couldn't even process what was going on. All I knew was that he, she, whoever this was, was pushing me back, basically lifting me off the ground, at a speed that should be nearly impossible.

It wasn't until after my back hit the wall and I heard the sound of my front door slamming shut that I was finally able to come to my senses. I still felt a little dizzy from the sudden motion, so I had to roll my head around and blink my eyes a few times before I could finally see straight. However, as soon as I did get to see who the source of all this commotion was, I found myself wondering if somehow the force of the blow had either knocked me out and what I was seeing now was a dream, or somehow I was hallucinating.

Because pressed against me with his arms locked on either side of my face was Aiden Vaughan, his face merely inches from mine. In any other case, I'd probably be extremely uncomfortable with how close he was to me right now, but right now, all I could feel was anger and confusion. However, the look on his face prevented me from voicing any of my thoughts or telling him to back off. He looked furious—enraged. He looked ready to kill.
