Chapter 9- Times Ticking

"Jesse?"

"Yes!?" he said looking me straight in the eyes

"Does your Dad or granddad have a Horse trailer?"

"Oh, well yes it's a cattle trailer but it'll do" he said with a hint of sadness, it's not like i was going to french kiss him in the Kitchen, so no need to get excited!. i thought to myself

"Good! bring it here we got two days to prepare for the Trials! and two days till destiney!" i said dramatically.. Later that day Jesse brought the Trailer and Jesse, Me and Lucy were heading to the Track today for a couple more practices before the Trials.

"I'll call you" I told my mom and dad

"You better, i swear Tess if i go an hour without knowing where you are, your grounded!" my mother said sternly

"I'll be at the track but yes Mom i'll call and if i dont Lucy or Jesse will"

My mother gave me a soft kiss on my forehead and my father patted my shoulder as we drove into Town. Jesse was 17 yrs old and Thank god he had his license already, I rode in the middle seat in his old ford pick up truck and Lucy sat to my right by the window. We got to the Track early at 8:12 am, I led Bella off the Trailer and tacked her up. she was all set in in her Tack, i used the Purple saddle sheet that Kurt gave me for Bella. I picked up the bridle and held it in my hands, I let the bit lay softly in my left hand and i pushed the top of the Bridle over Bella's head, she closed her bright brown eyes softly and reopened once i kissed her on her Nose, She was ready and so was i. I had my White jockey pants on they fit to a snug, I had my favorite shirt on with a quote i needed more than ever "Hope, Love & Faith" we were ready to show the world what we could do, Bella was ready to do what she was born to do. Jesse helped me up on Bella and Lucy gave me a reassuring smile, and patted Bellas neck,

"Good Luck! you'll do fine without a trainer" lucy said

"Thanks i know we'll do amazing!" i said with excitment.. I warmed her up to a trot and to a slow Canter. then i saw Jesse over by the Gate, i galloped Bella toward Jesse.

"You two ready?" said Jesse

"Yes, we are" i said happily. Jesse led me and bella into the gate, he climbed out and asked if i was ready for the gate to open,

"I'll count to three okay?"

"Okay" Jesse started the count down, and Bella was ready to go, 1...2...3! Jesse yelled, I held pieces of Bellas mane as she burst out of the Gate and into an intense gallop, she was stretching her legs so far. Her veins growing larger as we entered the Final turn, i didn't need to use my Whip all i did was Kiss louder and louder and we flew past the finish line, within seconds of passing the finish line, i realised Kurt was standing over by Lucy. My mouth dropped and i hopped off Bella leading her toward Jesse who was standing open handed waiting for Bellas reins. I walked up to Kurt with Lucy smiling at me from Kurts side.

"Hey there" i said semi quiet

"Hello Tess, I'm very sorry for lashing out at you the other day"

"You mean like hours ago?" i laughed

"Yes, Will you let me keep training you and Bella?"

"Without a Doubt!" i smiled from ear to ear

"Good, Bellatrix will get tomorrow off before the Trials. also Bella will stay here at the track until we fiqure out what Gary Rodgers wants".

"Sounds good to me Kurt" i said with a beaming smile. I was so happy Kurt is back on ourside again, but still nervous for what was to come. The Next day moved slowly as we approched the Trials, My mother was asking a bunch of her friends to come to the Trials for support. My Father took off work to see Me and Bella race, which is rare for him to take off work. March 18th was very slow and boring, but i thought to myself "it wont be like this anymore if we win the Trials then go to the Derby", i had some doubts about the Trials, still i stayed confident with Bella and myself.
