Chapter 5 - " We Meet Again "

KATH'S POV

" Tall Mocha Frappe, Tall Green Tea Latte and a Cheese Croissant for Kath " said one of the Barista..  I took the tray and thank her. I was about to go back to our spot when I suddenly collided to a hard wall..or a body?.. And I accidentally drop the tray that I am carrying!

Kath: " Oh great!..." I exclaimed

Then I saw him.. It was hard to explain kung ano naramdaman ko.. Parang nag slow motion lahat.. Or nag freeze yung paligid ko.. OH MY GOD!! This can't be...

DJ is here standing in front of me.?

DJ: " Hi Bal.. "

Nanlaki mga mata ko sa sinabi niya. It's like my mind is playing tricks on me..

But It's really him! And he's so FREAKING HOT!!

Jusko paano?!

DJ: " Bal.. Eerrr Kath.. Are you ok?sorry about the food and drinks. I'll just replace it right away. And sorry about your shirt too. "

What the heck is he saying. then I saw him pointing to my shirt. Of course natapon lang naman sa akin yung frappe good thing hindi yung green tea or else napaso pa ako.. Sa dami dami ng paraan kung paano kami mag kikita, Ganito pa nangyari! I just want the ground to open up and swallow me! Nakakahiya!

Kath: " ahhhhm.. Hi DJ.. Ahmmm kamusta? " I finally found my voice!

" Babe.. Are you ok? What happened? "

That's how Dominic came and found us. 

Kath: " Hi Babe.. I accidentally drop the tray, my fault.. "

Dominic: " Wait I'll call someone to clean the mess.. " humalik muna siya sa pisngi ko bago umalis.

Napatingin ako kay DJ and nakatitig siya sa akin.. Like staring really hard.

Kath: " Kailan pa kayo dumating? "

DJ: " Here's a tissue, you should wipe those cream on your shirt.. " he suddenly became serious

Same old DJ, commanding but the concern is still there..

Dominic: " Babe come on.. You should clean up.. You sure you're ok?.. I'll just get what you ordered awhile ago.."

Kath: " I'm ok babe don't worry.. Oo nga pala babe I want you to meet DJ, he's actually an old friend.. DJ, si Dominic nga pala... Ahhm my boyfriend.. "

Dominic: " Nice to meet you DJ.. "

They both shake hands.. While
Dominic's other hand kept on holding my waist like showing a protective gesture.

" Kuya DJ I saw what happened are you ok.. By the way here's your americano.."

A younger guy approach us. I know him. He's Jordan, DJ's cousin.

Jordan: " Hi Kath ... " pagbati nya with a smile showing his dimples..

Kath: " Hi Jordan.. " I answered him back..

Jordan: " Nag kita na pala kayo ni Kuya DJ.. Kakadating lang nila yesterday.. You should visit us sometime tinatanong ka din ni Tita Karla... "

Kath: " Ganun ba.. Ahmmm.. I'll tell my mom and isasama ko na din siguro siya pag dalaw ko kay Tita karla... "

While looking at DJ.. He sure is paying attention to what I am saying. Kanina pa siya tumititig.. Stop. Medyo naiilang na 'ko.. Sabi ko sa sarili ko...

Dominic: " Let's go babe. Our friends are waiting kanina pa. Mauna na kami guys. " nagpaalam na siya kila DJ and Jordan habang hinihila ako palayo.

Kath: " Bye.. I'll just see you around "

That was my last words to DJ.. As We headed to our table. I keep glancing his way. Jordan is saying something to him but his attention is still on... Me?.. It's like we are in a staring battle contest. I can't help it.. Parang I want to memorize every part of him.. I wanted to hug him badly kanina.. I missed him so much.

" Babe.. Babe... Kath! " ohhh I didn't know kinakausap na pala ako ni Dom

Kath: " huh ano yun babe?.." While givng him my full attention.

I noticed tahimik lang sila Thou and Arisse na nakatingin sa amin. And I also noticed na napalitan na yung drinks and food na natapon ko kanina. Huh ang bilis naman yata.

Dominic: " Kath.. "

Kath? San galing yun? No babe? Sh*t he's calling me by my name kapag naiinis or galit siya sa akin.. Then I saw his face. Salubong na kilay niya.
And It was Thou who break the tension.

Thou: " Arisse let's go may nakalimutan ako sa resto I have to go back.. "

Arisse: " Ok yeah samahan na kita.. Bestie we have to go na muna. " Giving  me a pity glance.

Naiwan kami sa table ni Dominic. And when I look on DJ's direction wala na siya doon.. I scan around the entire cafe and nope I didn't see him..

Dominic: " What was that all about? "

Yun agad ang sinabi ni Dom sa akin. I want to pretend na hindi ko alam kung ano sinasabi niya.. Pero I know. Malinaw pa sa sikat ng araw na it was my encounter with DJ yung tinatanong niya. I can not look directly on him. I don't know what's wrong with me. I didn't even cheat on him. Para bang gumawa ako ng mortal sin!..

Dominic: " Can you please stop fidgeting.. And look at me "

Kath: " Sorry Babe.. " yun lang ang nasabi ko.

Dominic: " That guy DJ is he just a friend to you or is he your Ex or something?.. Kasi matagal na kitang kilala.. As far as I know I am your first boyfriend Kath. And you NEVER mentioned him to me.. " mahina pero madiin niyang pag kakasabi.

It's the first time that I see this side of Dominic, and hindi ako sanay.

Kath: " Babe he's just a friend.. Actually close friend from the past. I didn't mention him to you kasi matagal na siyang wala dito. They migrated in the U.S with his family. Kaya yung nakita mo kanina, I was just surprised kasi matagal na kaming hindi nag kita.." Saying those words to him as I reach for his hand across the table.

Kath: " Babe... sorry ok.. 'Wag ka na magalit please. "

Dominic: " Ok.. I guess I was just jealous Babe. Sorry for over reacting. I saw how you look at him kanina.. I can't help it.. If he's just an old friend to you then so be it. "

Pffft thank goodness. I saw his features softens from my explanation. Ok na kami. Hinatid na niya ako pauwi dahil I need to change my clothes na din, I forgot the frappe that was all over my shirt. It was still early when Dominic left the house. I change into my running gear. I have to clear my mind from what happened a while ago.. I can't be destructed. And I need to stop thinking about him!
