The dreadful sound admitted itself around my bedroom, bouncing off every wall available. I groaned, leaned over and smacked the 'off' button on my alarm clock. I always hated waking up in the morning but today was even worse. It was my first day at my new job in a small coffee shop just down the road, as much as I love coffee, I hate working.
I swing my small, shaky legs over the side of my bed and walk to my wardrobe grabbing clothes what would fit the expectations of my boss. Slipping them on and throwing my long teal hair into a bun, I started on my make-up. I carefully drew a wing on my eyes and added a little mascara to really make my grey eyes show. I decided that was enough on my appearance and headed down my stairs into the kitchen. Luckily I live alone in little Columbus and that's how I plan to stay. Quickly making strong coffee and grabbing my keys, I'm out the door heading to my car to drive to work.

Silence, I hate it, so many things that I am unsure of in silence. I turn the radio up and hear Hasley playing through the speakers of my beat up truck. I quietly tap the beat on the wheel and concentrate on the road.
I pulled up to the mall and ran into the building as the rain was coming down pretty strong, out of nowhere may I add. Luckily, I didn't have to walk up any stairs as the shop was on the bottom floor. I pushed the small door open and walked in being greeted by a very cheery smile
'Hi Evie! You've already got experience in a coffee shop so I'm going to head off, see you tomorrow!' And with that she waved and left... Wow.
It was quiet all day so all I did was wash the tables multiple times and go on my phone. I heard the bell above the door ring but I didn't look up. I felt breathing on the back of my neck and as I looked up I was greeted with deep brown eyes and faded candy floss pink hair. He made eye contact with me and then looked down at his shoes
'Ummmm... The usual please...' He muttered, I knitted my eyebrows together
'And that would be?' I asked back picking at the sleeve on my jumper, he diverted his gaze up slightly. He reached out and stopped my hands
'You shouldn't do that yanno? And just a normal mocha please' he sighed and walked over to the far corner of the café. I quickly made his drink and shuffled over with it to hand to him. I placed it down on the table and shuffled back over to the desk cleaning up the mess I had made.
I looked over at the mysterious boy and saw he was just looking at the coffee and not actually drinking it. I ignored the feeling growing in my stomach and continued my day.

I looked over and he was still sitting there without touching the coffee I had made him a good couple of hours ago. I looked away for a few minutes, I heard the scrap of the chair being pushed backwards and a loud crash in the bin. I looked up just to see the door slowly close, what's his problem?

Around 5 I shut the shop up making sure it was clean and presentable for the next day. I slowly walked out the mall towards my car. I heard quiet mutters near the door and I peered around to see. I saw the pink hair again and smiled
'Ummm... You okay?' I quietly asked, thanks to my anxiety kicking in. He snapped his head up and his eyes widened.
'My car kinda broke... I don't want to walk home in the rain so I'm waiting for it to die down' he replied to my question and did an awkward cough afterwards. I fiddled with my hands, picking the nail varnish off my dainty nails
'Do you want a...ummm...lift?' I managed out between stutters. He closed his eyes slightly and nodded
'That'd be lovely thanks' he spoke almost silently. I slowly made my way to the doors and then stepped out into the rain, not feeling it falling on me. I looked up and was met with black silk from a jacket. His jacket. I quickly ran to the truck, missing the puddles and jumped into the drivers side, the person doing the same in the passenger side. I reached for the radio, feeling a warmth over mine. His hand. I smiled and turned on the radio. I slowly started out of the car park and made my way out
'Umm... Could you... Umm give me directions' he nodded slightly and we were off.
'What's your name?' I asked below a whisper
'Josh, Josh Dun.' He replied in the same tone.
