I hate the days at work were everything is just one big rush. It's customer after customer. I haven't even been able to have five minutes to myself. At least I haven't had any rude customers today.

"Hey, Eric said we can take our break now." Alison shouts from across the room.

Oh thank God! I can really use a break. I finish up with my last customer then go to the break room in the back. I grab a soda and a sandwich and sit down next to Alison.

"Any big birthday plans this weekend?" Alison questions.

"I think Jason is throwing me a party on Saturday." I tell her.

"I see. Any special birthday plans with Ash?"

I shrug and take a sip of my soda, "I don't know. He hasn't mentioned anything."

We eat in silence for a couple of minutes.

"We should double date sometime Sammy."

"You're right, we should. Maybe next weekend?" I suggest.

"Definitely." she agrees.

We finish our lunch and head back out to the front. I put on a cherry smile and and walk up to the couple waiting to be seated.

I look at Ash from across the fancy table. The dim candle light shines in his eyes. He reaches across the table and takes my hand in his.

"I still can't believe you brought me here Ash. This place is so expensive."

He squeezes my hand, "I already told you not to worry about how much it cost. I want you to have a nice birthday."

I smile playfully at him, "My birthday's not until tomorrow silly."

"I know, but Jason is having that party for you so I figured we would have our own celebration a day early."

The waiter comes by and sets our food down for us. I thank him and he smiles back politely before walking away.

We talk about random things during dinner, jumping from one topic to another until the our water brings us the check. Ash pays for our meal and leads me out to his Harley.

He drives us to this quiet little park that is down the street from our house. We walk around for a bit, holding hands and enjoying the quiet night.

I spot a small clearing surrounded by trees. I lead Ash over there and we sit down in the lush grass.

"I've had a great time tonight Ash." I smile at him.

"So have I honey."

Ash reaches into his pocket and pulls out a small box wrapped in silver wrapping paper. He holds it out to me and I take it from him. I stare at it a moment before I peel the wrapping paper off. I stare at the velvet box and quickly look up at Ash, "open it." he says.

I bite my lip and slowly lift the lid. I gasp and my eyes widen when I see what is inside, Hanging from a silver chain is a silver heart with a smaller topaz heart in the center of it.

"Do you like it?"

I throw my arms around his neck, "I love it. It's so beautiful Ash. Thank you."

Ash hugs me back then pulls away from me, "I'm glad you like it. Turn around and I'll put it on you."

I obediently turn and lift my hair up so Ash can fasten the necklace. It settle perfectly against my skin. I run my hand over it and smile. Ash turn me around and kisses me lightly on the lips, "It's late, we should get home."

I follow Ash back to his bike and we make the short drive home. Thankfully Jason's truck is gone so I don't have to try and sneak since he thinks I'm with Alison.

I pull out my phone and send a quick text to Alison to let her know that I'm home.

How did ur date go?

I smile at the thought of my date,

It was amazing :)

"What are you smiling about?" Ash wonders.

"Alison was just asking about our date. I told her it was amazing."

Ash walks over to me and kisses me, "I'm glad you enjoyed it."

I say good night to Ash and give him a good night kiss before Jason comes home.

I walk into the bathroom and wash my face and brush my teeth before I go into my room and change into my pj's.

I stay up a while and listen to the hushed voices coming from the living room. I pull my blanket over me and slowly fall asleep.
